Nikko Calls Foot Fault on Gurthie ... "Don't you shake his hand, bro.."

Often, perceptions and reality are often not one in the same.

David Copperfield makes cars disappear on TV. Does it mean those cars are actually disappearing into thin air?

My point is that calling GG a punk/classless/etc. based on the video is pretty presumptuous, and classless in and of itself.

You're classless.

So are we getting full time Field Marshals that follow and police every group in NT events next year?

Sure.....he was off to the right side of the disc by about 6''. I'm not saying it wasn't a fair call but there was no advantage gained as you can see the line is identical 6'' left or right.

Firstly, it doesn't matter if advantage was gained. It's a rule.

Secondly, advantage was OBVIOUSLY gained. His re-throw was not as good as the one where he wasn't thinking about stance.

And people complain that the PDGA wastes money now. Just imagine when fees double and membership is increased by 25% to cover these costs simply for the 15 players in the world who tour.

It does matter if advantage was gained, that why rules are in place. To eliminate unfair advantages.

wait our "Tour" consists of only 15 guys? something is wrong here...

if you'll notice, GG pulls ricky away, then the video cuts from nikko on their right to nikko on their left. i'm sure words and congrats were exchanged in that time. what may or may not have happened is obviously wide open for people to speculate, though.

Advantage is gained just by not having to pay attention to exactly where your foot lands and having more concentration on your throwing motion. Every foot fault gains advantage.

wtf? they faked a foot fault call and then got you for a practice throw? or you missed the first and made the second but didn't get to count it?

I made the second one... didn't count it as my re-throw or a practice. Shoulda been one or the other really... LOL. I mentioned it at the end and everyone simply said, "It's just league... not PDGA."

Just kinda timely given this thread.

I know when I was watching the live tweets come in from the tournament, I was initially shocked that he called it on a teammate, but my second thought was that it's not a team sport and rules be rules.

How do you even know what GG's intentions were? If, he was even upset? Or, if there is even more to the story? (For all we know, Nikko could have banged GG's sister) You guys are making some lofty assumptions.

Regardless what the issue was, bringing happy-go-lucky Ricky into it was classless.

The rules don't say: only call these when the offender has a good shot.

Unfortunately that's how it happens a lot of the time. I know guys that don't call obvious violations if the person threw a bad shot. Fell forward on your 23ft putt and missed? Silence. Slipped and kicked your mini during your throw, shanking your drive? I didn't see it.

Nope. I misstepped and the toe of my shoe landed with weight on my marker disc. Foot slipped, I hit the ground, disc went 30 ft. straight up. Boy, was I glad to get to throw again.

Its fine that Nikko called a foot fault. Too bad he didn't get one called on him at 26 minutes and change in the video. And you shouldn't be allowed to place another disc on or near your marker disc.

so the new rule you can call a foot fault on the last hole of a tied round once you are parked...if the other player parks his throw you can just call a foot fault to make him throw again?

another situation.....what happens when you are tied in a playoff. nobody can second except the case of three way tie???? or second yourself???

rule seems really weird.
