Hammer, i think proton and neutron are made of the same plastic, its just that one has transparent beads added to the mix to make it see through.. the transparent beads might have slightly different characteristics when molded (feel or stiffness), however. But the polymer is the same form my understanding.

I have not been able to beat either plastic in enough to get it to the retirement stage.. that's for sure.

stupid durable.

What I was getting at is the stability differences, as well as feel/stiffness/etc. Star tends to be less stable/os than Champ. My understanding is that MVP's plastics are similar in that Neutron is less stable/os than Proton. Am I mistaken?

generally my neutrons are less stable, like my volts and tangents in neutron are less stable obviously.. hard to say for other molds.

I did flatten the top on my N Tangents though.. im sure that had an effect.

I Think MVP purposely made the Proton Volt a little different so it gave us something new to play with :) and i LOVE the p volt

I believe I asked that once. I guess you're delusional as well.

Here was the first time this was hashed out:

Why would you want a faster Teebird? They are perfect as is. The weak arms will think its better cause it's faster......fools.

but then I found this gem:

I got a Proton Volt for free yesterday. Pink, super flat, 173g. The feel was fantastic, and I was hoping that it lived up to the 11x Teebird clone hype. Unfortunately, for me it did not. It was a great disc, and a bit faster than a Teebird, however it didn't have the HSS stability of a 11x CAL TB or the LSS fade.

yet earlier you say:

This is what I find so funny about the constant search for "a faster Teebird". I've never understood why anyone would want a faster Teebird. Once a disc is made faster, it starts to lose the straight flying quality that makes a Teebird so good.

So the volt was faster, yet didn't have as much fade and your 11xCAL tbs fade yet makes them good straight flying discs?

we went over the faster tb crap on 7/9.

I am allowed to state an opinion that the TB is duper hyped on this site and it lives up to that rep daily. I'd even bet people here probably suggest to others to throw a Teebird, just because of the hype it gets yet they haven't even thrown one themselves consistently.

Good stuff in here today.

A fresh TB is supposed to have a healthy fade. Then they season slightly to be super straight. I thought you knew this?

lol....you spent the time to look at my posts that are a month old. You must have a slow life. That is some good stuff. So why are you trying to start an argument? Did I offend you?

I would say hype is when there is lots of talk about how good a disc is, and it reality it doesn't live up to the talk. Teebirds have been in the bags of the top golfers for years, and continue to be. How is that hype? They clearly are as advertised. The Groove, now that was hype.

Hammer I think you are misunderstanding me in saying these discs are hyped-- I am not saying they are bad discs or that there is anything negative about them just that they are pumped on here like crazy, which respectfully so as they even live up to the hype to an extent but to ask if a WC or any top level pro etc didn't use one is ridiculous as they are part of the hype... Its not that these discs made them win and we know most 10+ year top level pros are not throwing current production run molds either which is a whole different topic. Up until recently what else was there to throw that could compete even?! exactly.

I believe the reason the p Volts are coming out more OS is because MVP got new equipment and changed their manufacturing process slightly so that their is no flashing on the underside of the wing near the edge and so that the PLH's are higher...not that Proton is inherently more OS.

You don't notice that the P Volt has more high speed turn and low speed fade than a Teebird?

I played a round today with my P Volt. Has more turn than a teebird but not a HUGE amount. At least not right now I just bought the Volt. Fades a lot harder than a teebird. Really flies like my old eagles.

On a cool note I pumped an E Tangent and Z Comet both out to 350'. I was stoked. Oh yeah, real distance, not intr4n3tz distance.

Not true. Feel the early MVP discs...They were opaque Proton. Neutron is a different plastic--still urethane, but with a more waxy quality.

I still stand by my statement that the Volt is fastest thing that flies like a good overstable TB(not all TBs are equal)...Nothing else faster has even reminded me remotely of a TB. Hammer knows this, he's just messing with y'all.

Why would you want a disc faster than a Teebird that still mimicked the HSS/LSS of the TB? Does anyone really have to ask that question? Not to replace your TB, but to fly like it but farther and lower. Speed doesn't necessarily rule out a TB-like flight either. The TB has more HSS than any neutral-ish fairway driver that is slower than it, yet doesn't have a proportional amount of extra fade. The P Volt is like this as well compared to discs in it's speed class. It has the flightpath of a slower disc.

i have the latest run of neutron and proton, as of now (the latest runs) they feel very similar, and are both just as durable.. i think they are the same plastic.
