Gary The Boomerang Disc Golfer

Playing Griggs today, and this dude ahead of me wings this huge bent piece of wood about 300 ft. The thing looked like it was easily a few pounds, and he was carrying a second one, "his putter" that was even bigger. Yhey are called Kylies, and are Aboriginal hunting weapons (they never used boomerangs as weapons, just fyi).

Turns out, he is a world class boomerang competitor, and has held four world records, as well as being a member of the US boomerang team! His name is Gary Broadbent, and he was the nicest dude! His home course is Aboretum, so Mike C and some of you boys have probably seen him about, but if anyone else sees him on a course give him a shout! He even offered me a free roomerang, but I had to leave before the end of his round and couldn't meet him to get it.

oh yes, the boomerang man. i know who he is. in addition to his various boomerang accomplishments he is also a motivational speaker and profound spouter of bs. (he claims to live in a boomerang shaped house which is really an l-shaped ranch style, also claims to have the swedish, japanese, german etc boomerang teams frequently stay at his house) nice guy though.

No track suit, but he rocked the boomerang t-shirt and boomerang necklace. I wouldn't be shocked at all if other teams stay at his house, I mean, boomerang is probably a smaller sport than disc golf and I wouldn't be shocked at all if McBeast stayed a local's house from time to time.

The school where I used to teach would have him come and get his boomerang on once a year. He's good at throwing boomerangs but not always so good at catching them. Although I have seen him catch a roomerang blindfolded.
