I voted Rancho, though I technically have an even split in the bag between the two. I like them both, the Rancho is just a little more versatile, though.

I'm still not quite sure whether or not I really like the Roc3. I've thrown it in many different situations and have had mixed results. I then take a DX Roc and KC Pro Roc and throw the same shot and have different results. I find the Roc3 has a much different flight path than the DX Roc and KC Pro Rocs. I've found that it doesn't handle the wind that great and is prone to turning when thrown hard into the wind. I've thrown DX Rocs and KC Pro Rocs into the same headwinds and they have finished straight or just left of target. The Roc3 was considerably to the right of the target and didn't fight back. Now, the Champ Roc3's are more stable than their DX counterparts but don't have the same glide as the DX Roc3. I'll continue the test phase but I really don't think they will make the Spring /Summer bag.

I have makoiii ,sharkiii and wasp. The roc III would prob give the wasp the boot. The one time I gave a roc a huck was when I guy had dropped one out of his bag and was throwing it to him. I was brand new at the time, and that thing went around 250 on a nice line. It was a tourney stamp from local group and didn't find out what it was till I I found one leftover on the shelf at local dg shop. All they had left was 180 g. The one I had thrown was around 170 and nicely broken in. So , needless to say, the 180 never worked and sitting in loaner duffle bag to this day. I did get a bottom stamp roc for Christmas and will revisit rocs in the near future. I think the right set of cycled rocks could be the the golden ticket for midranges.

I invested in quite a few champ and pro roc3. They are a great mid, but it was one of those for me that I kept trying so hard to love but just did not get what I wanted half the time.

Decided to have a shoot out with one of my KC Pro Ranchos. Got two aces at a legit course within a week with the Rancho right after putting it back in to compete. I think the winner has made itself known for me! Just a plain old post flight numbers 175 gram kc pro rancho and it has been kicking butt ever since.

KC Pro Rocs are the best mids on the market. It's funny though, because I think that in 10 years the roc will be rarer in a lot of players bags because of the Roc3. I know it will always have a spot in mine though.

Regular Roc of course. Roc3 just didn't do it for me. Been beating in a Glow DX and KC all winter, and I'm falling in love. If only I could find a Roc that holds its stability for a while longer... The Pain fills that role quite nicely, but if I want to minimize my molds even more then I'm screwed.

I used a Champion Roc3 for a few months but I took it out of my bag. I decided to just stick with Rancho Rocs. I like cycling & for me the Roc3 seems to work best for a mid setup that uses different molds to cover all the mid slots. I never got into the Ontario & San Marino Roc molds. Cycling Rancho Rocs covers my mid slots well & for me getting Rancho Rocs is easier than getting Ontario & San Marino Rocs. The Roc3 mold isn't bad but Rancho Rocs just fit my game better. My mid setup is one Champion Glow Gator, one 04 USDGC Champion Rancho Roc & three KC Rocs. Obviously my KC Rocs are beat into different levels of stability. All my mids are 180 grams accept for my Glow Gator which is 175 grams (I've never seen a 180 Champion Gator). My favorite plastic when it comes to Rocs is KC Pro. If I didn't carry three KC Rocs I'd carry three DX Rocs. The only reason I prefer KC Pro plastic over DX is becuase KC Pro Rocs hold their stability longer than DX Rocs. I have a few Flat Top Rocs (both KC & DX) but I prefer Rocs with a slight dome. I don't carry any Flat Top Rocs in my bag. In my experience Flat Top Rocs are more nose angle sensitive & have less glide than Rocs with some dome.
