Team Trilogy

You should tell the powers that be to talk about this team trilogy a little more on the answer man podcast.. Is emac or anyone FROM DD a part of this as well?

FROM DD? EMac is not. Liz & Paul Dorries, Miles Seaborn, A Ray, Jake Lauber, Greg Schwartz all are. I'm probably missing someone, apologies.

I believe the Team group is secret or private or closed or whatever the terminology is so I don't imagine it would show up there.

amazing way to "grow the sport" no wonder I couldn't find its existence even on FB searches anymore. At least before you could see it and just dream of being accepted.

The Trilogy Secret Society is much better than fan-club after all.

The only issue I can see from Team Trilogy, and it's something I've seen in real life as well as here on the forums, is all the impressionable younger folks who are changing out their entire bags just to be on this team. Let's face it: that's the whole reason the thread here was started. How many threads have been created in the last two months where the OP starts with "I'm trying to get on Team Trilogy and I need to find a Trilogy replacement for..."

Steele brings up a great point, and it is something the younger generations should take to heart: if you don't already throw the Latitude family exclusively, DONT JOIN THE TEAM.

Do I have to be a DGCR forum troll to be on Team Trollogy, or can I just be a general internet forum troll?

Just to pipe in as someone who did get selected for Team Latitude, we were encouraged to join Team Trilogy as well, via the same email Brad referred to.

Also, to address the question of why someone who is set with their bag would apply for a sponsorship that requires switching away from the comfortable plastic, I can only say why I did it. I applied just to see what would happen. If I got it, great. If I didn't, oh well, I'm good with what I've been doing anyway.

Just because I'm perfectly happy with the discs in my bag doesn't mean I'm unwilling to try new things. I guess it's more I'm unwilling to throw money around on new things when the old things (which I've invested years and hundreds if not thousands of dollars to figure out) work just fine. I'm not about to set all that aside just to spend more time and money to start the process all over again. But if I'm given the discs to throw and incentivized to throw them with the promise of more free stuff in the future, then why the hell not give it a shot?

I'm not at liberty to discuss details of the sponsorship, but suffice to say it is more than I expected it to be. There was no earthly reason to say no once I had the details. And if it doesn't work out and I don't make the "cut" at the end of the year, all I've really lost is a few months and maybe a couple extra tournaments worth of entry fees and travel expenses. But I will have gained a bunch of new discs and gear and experience, and the old comfortable discs will be there waiting for me if I want to go back to them.

Another thing in the plus column is having to learn and figure out new discs is forcing me to practice more than I normally would. It's forcing me to re-think some shots that have become familiar and rote for me because I no longer have that tried and true disc in my bag anymore. I expect it's going to make me a better player as a result. New forms of motivation are a hell of a thing.

That is incredibly ignorant. Who are you to say that people cant stick to a consistant set of plastics and molds and be happy?

Team Trilogy strikes me as the Greek system of disc golf. I will now refer to it as Lambda Delta Sigma.

*OK, so there isn't a Greek letter W, but Sigma is basically a W on its side. It works perfectly for Westwide.*

Are you for real guy?

I'm defending your stupid little club, jackass. But I guess you ccallingme terrible human being because I'm explaining why people don't like your club makes me ignorant. You're an idiot.

Way to represent your club with positivity, and to undercut Steele and all the others who are working their butts off to offer something cool to guys like who want to drop your favorite putter in a heartbeat the second people who REALLY care about a brand offer a place for you to belong.

lol.. yeah Andy your first post was on point. Not just switching their bags out for "fun" but rather a perceived incentive which really doesn't exist when you weigh out the costs of truly growing the sport.

sure but that would imply you just want to do it and there is no benefit at all outside of being hip now with it and wow.
