Disc golfers survive plane _____ ?

Finish your title so that it makes some sort of sense. What did they survive a plane ride?

:wall:

I keep visualizing a remote controlled, single engine, model plane here. Nothing in the article rules that out. And if the 'pilot' kept the plane in the air, would it be a crash after all?

Edit:
Sorry, re-read it, and it used the term 'accident'. However, the apostrophe on players and the 'fact' that the plane and the basket were 'injured' strikes me as odd. Finally, 'caught wind'?

Brief search of the San Francisco Chronicle home, today, local, bay area & keyword searches for 'disc', 'plane', 'locastro', or 'cale' produced no likely stories, so...myth busted?

Neat little imitation article though? Or anyone have corroboration? Traumatic event, if it were true. Ho hum if not. But I was bored this evening, so... there you go. :)

This exactly. If this IS a real article (which I really doubt), it sounds like it's talking about an RC plane that someone was flying around a course. It hit a pocket of air and nosedived into a basket, but the pilot recovered it before it hit the ground. The only thing that indicates otherwise is the use of the word "passengers" in the article - which is part of the reason I think it's a totally fake article.

I'm guessing "Sew Fly" is doing some sort of promotional/hype thing for a video that will post soon. Whoever Sew Fly is. I refuse to look. Actually, I have a vision of discs sewn together and I really, really never want to find out if that is actually a thing. :|

On the 2nd Cale was at a tourney in MN and Nikko was at a tourney in WA.

That's a pretty big plane.
