I'm just spit balling here, but hear me out! We can take and put the term Frolf on a course that was designed by someone that wasn't thinking about the best interest of the sport. Someone that looks at Disc Golf as equal to or less than Miniature golf.

Here is a for instance! We have a course here in the Myrtle Beach area, Tupelo Bay. It's set up on a Ball Golf course, which is right behind the Golf courses Miniature golf course. It's looked at as a "Family" activity! To which there is nothing wrong with that, except that it is marketed towards the tourists.

Now, it's not a bad course... Per say, but the person that designed it, just slapped some discatchers to the right or the left of the BG Greens, then decreed themselves a disc golf course! It is cool to play at night, but when you have to drop 7 bucks for 9 holes and 10 for 18... That's a bit ridiculous!

So... Tupelo Bay is Frolf Course! What do you think?

Can you tell I've had a lot of time to kill today!

I think they are few and far between, but they are out there! Possibly more common in touristy areas.

I say keep "frolf" out of disc golf...

I'm referring to courses that are as equally removed from disc golf as well. Which is why felt it appropriate to let the two disappear together!

is frolf really that bad?
Really its only used as a goof term , i dont think anyone really uses it seriously , and whats so bad about having a few "hipster" terms so when dont have to call it only one thing for the next 100 years. It just keeps it fresh and makes it a little more "fun".

I refer to basketball as "shooting the rock" , "shooting hoops", "b-ball" , "spherical mambo".
ok just made that last one up but you get my point , i think people need to lightin up and worry more about keeping their discs in the fairway and inside the basket .

For me I started to hate the term when a Ball Golfer, (For the last few years the only Disc Golfing course was on a ball golf course), pointed out to the crowd he was playing with and everyone else within ear shot, How I was playing Frolf! and how he had never seen a "Frolfer". Much to the delight of his audience, I became the uninvited center of attention while he drove that word into the ground. I ignored him for the most part, until he decided to step up his antics, and began to interview me for his audience! This was done in a very degrading fashion, not funny haha either. Even the people he was with, began to have the look on their face of "He's over doing it now" That's when I fired back with, "Okay, it's not frolf, It's Disc Golf or Frisbee Golf and if you think Disc Golf is still amusing, the last major tournament had a 50k purse!" I pretty much Pi***d on his campfire and proceeded on my way. Throwing discs angry didn't really work for me either! lol Ever since then, I've never liked that word. He was an overweight, pompous rich guy with way to much confidence in himself. So if I offended anyone in anyway, I'm sorry! I was really only having fun with it, because I'm having a very uneventful day today and didn't have much else to do. I still don't like the word, but I'll digress! :)

if anything ball golf should be changed to "balf"

AND disc golf would keep it's real name (disc golf).

There is a ball golf course about 1/2 an hour away from my house that installed baskets last year. I've played there several times. Ball golfers and disc golfers play at about the same pace, but sometimes we catch up w/ them or they catch up w/ us. They don't seem to look down on it, and I have not heard them make stupid remarks about DG. They watch us to see how we actually play. Fortunately I've never had a d**chebag make stupid comments about it.

myrtle beach must get a ton of guys like that.

i think anything more than 5 bucks is ridiculous. now 10 to play on a ball golf course is just ludacris.
I know that's right! especially when the nearest courses were 60 miles in any direction!! Thank God for East Bay Park I've been there at least once a week since I found out about it!

Oh God Yes! Especially now, Snowbird d'bags can be the worst. I haven't figured that out yet, but it's true. Even when I was in the delivery business it was like that! Crazy, but true!

Also known as "D***ed Yankees". Not to be confused with "Yankees," who can often be forgiven for the effects of having to grow up somewhere like Newark or Detroit.

Exactly! The D***ed Yankees will go out of their way to be a D'bag. They'll earn it!

to me Frolf courses are Target courses. if it has a basket it is disc golf no matter how poor the course.
I have played tupelo and their are FAR worse!

Having played a tournament on a DG course that was set up on a ball golf course I am not sure that we can really do that. There are some pitch and putt kind of courses that I would be more willing to assign the term to.
