Grip EQ is offering a reward for the return of Paul McBeth's stolen bag.

lol exactly. "the discs" are like some weird sacred things around here.
Paul probably could have borrowed disc from Scott Stokley and come out a high finisher.

Brinster throws "throw aways" for risky shots I've heard. Why would he do that if it didn't care about his go to discs? And I've watched Paul's in the bag where he said he finally didn't carry mcpro roc3s because he finally had broken in champs. That only took three years or so. I'd be pissed to lose, let alone have stolen, a three year old turnover champ disc.

Ya brinster loves his protostar echo xcals, not exactly replaceable.

The champ roc3s probably hurt the most, followed by that pink destroyer he has been bombing for the last year. if I were him I'd be lit about that awesome McPro stamped destroyer, brand new disc and probably the only one made. His protostar thunderbirds are easy to replace throwing wise, unique/value wise not so much. some of the other guys on tour should be thanking their lucky stars. Plenty of guys running around with 8-11x kcs, CE rocs, ect.

Guess you have never lost a really trusty turn over disc??? I have two discs in my bag that aren't exactly replaceable because they have been in my bag for 10 year now(bar stamp buzz and super beat TL). I am very confident that when i toss them both RHFH on a 45 degree hyzer, they will flip staight and slowly fade left. Lose those and i am scarmbling because it basically boils down to muscle memory, i am going to grab a "Newer" Version of the previous stated disc and my body is going to want to throw them the same way but the results are going to be off because the stability of the disc isn't the same. So, that is why i think some thing the DISC is SACRED but, that my two cents.

i actually know the answer to this. bus drivers dont make a ton of money and they only work part of the year, so i could see him not wanting to replace discs all the time.

All of these reasons are why I have made an effort to only throw production discs....it took 2 years but the only thing that isn't a production run in my bag now are the ace race impacts which I have enough back ups to last for a lifetime.

No, the point is that IT WAS HIS BAG OF DISCS.

The "he gets them for free" excuse is a load, A HUGE LOAD, of BS. Sounds like people are trying to defend stealing because he didn't pay for them.

Weak.

I've lived in some rough areas over the years, and my car and apartment have both been broken into. I've lost some pricey stuff. None of it mattered nearly as much as the feeling of violation from unwelcome people rifling through my things. Paul's in the bag videos always seem to have different discs in them so I'd say he's not as worried about them as you're claiming.

He may not be, but those Roc3s he's been carrying for a year or so probably do hurt a bit.

lol... well disc golf discs and a bag are not all that significant IMO.

Had MUCH worse get stolen. Disc Golf Discs can easily be replaced (that's why you don't throw expensive OOP to begin with lol we toss them around tall grass and dirty ponds )

And most disc golf bags cost less than a suitcase and are basically just full of toys. Get serious man.

They're basically full your toys, but for Paul, they're his livelihood.

In light of this incident, this sort of makes me wonder (if they aren't doing it already), if top pros are going to start preparing the equivalent of two bags of discs and carry the backup bag with them when they travel in the event that the primary one gets jacked. In case people have forgotten, this isn't the first time this has happened.

I would think they're doing this anyway. Lost discs are a part of disc golf, so I'm sure they have backups ready. Generally discs are lost one at a time though, but it wouldn't be unreasonable to have a backup for everything in the bag.

I do this and I'm not very good so I'd hope the top guys have the foresight to prepare for the worst.

I feel a lot of sympathy for Paul and suspect that the theft may have cost him this tourney (although he'll probably disagree and he still took it to a playoff). I'm more than a little surprised that he did not carry a backup bag, or at least backup discs.
I haven't played tourneys for a while, but back then I always carried a backup for every disc. Plus I would carry windy day discs. Surprised he didn't do this. Perhaps the travelling vehicle was full. Obviously, he didn't think he'd need it.

Mcbeth isn't a victim, he's a warrior. Victims punish themselves over and over for the same thing which makes no logical sense if you think about it. Warriors don't waste time punishing themselves by fretting over the past. They learn from it, shrug it off, and stay in attack mode. McBeast is gunna be alright folks.

The moral of the story, thieves need their hands broken/removed. If it's not yours, leave it alone.

Props to Paul for his 2nd place finish, in light of everything else.
