Goals for 2010

1) Winters are long here so I'm going to be desperate to get back into the swing of things when the weather starts to clear. I already can't wait.

Bring a shovel to the course..............

#1 Encourage fair-weather players to throw in the winter !! Some people are such
icon_cat.gif

#2 Keep rating over 900
#3 Be competitve in Pro Masters(won 3 times in Am Masters this year)
#4 Get some co-workers out to play

Same as this years goal. Gain some consistency. Specifically inside the putting circle.
Upshots are easy, I'm happy with my scramble, My thumber is getting more distance and is almost to a point where I would be content. I've got enough distance backhand to be competitive and have fun. I've gotten my forehand back to a acceptable distance. I just need to get the putts inside 20' where they are automatic and the ones outside to a higher percentage.

Course goals. I'd like to do another road trip. I need to get up to Colorado and play the new one in Pagosa Springs where my parents have a cabin. I've got 13 courses in my area that I haven't played (of 41). Half of them are worthless but I'd like to get the "not played" down to 8 or less courses. I need to take a weekend trip to Austin to see some friends and get a round in on some of the better courses, Manor, Circle C, Met Center. I'm at 72 courses played and I'd like to bump that up to 85 or 90 by the end of 2010. I'd really like to go play some on the East coast but I think I'll have to wait till 2011 for that.

*get a practice backet

*play every course within 200 miles and at least 1 in three new states.

* beat my best round at my home course by five strokes :D

*continue to learn new shots (tomahawk, thumber, roller)

I set three goals for this year and met 1 of them. I've scored my first under par round at my home course. And not to start a big argument here. Par for me is what the course calls par. No matter how easy or difficult or inconsistent that may be. Par (for me) is what the course lists as par. I scored under par and did so several times since. Being the old hippy stoner that I am I forgot the other 2 goals.

For this year I have 4 goals.

1. Score par at another course
2. Shoot a bogey free round
3. Play in my first tournament
4. practice, practice, practice - no excuses this upcoming year :D

1) Improve my driving to a consistent 275-300 ft. with something that at least resembles control.

2) Increase my "putting with confidence" range.

3) Play smarter.

4) Knock 5-10 off my scores on my usual 2 courses. I guess this would depend on how I do with 1, 2 & 3

5) Depending on how the first 4 go, I think I'd like to try a tournament.

play more (won't take much)

do not get re-elected as pdga state coordinator

play 5 new courses (should be easy as i haven't played a ton of them that have gone in in va/md over the last few years)

sell/design/install 1-2 new courses

sell off more of my collection

1) start more flame wars
2) fill 80played's shoes
3) play a tourney or two. (hopefully the ace race disc won't be a putter.)
4) hit 350' consistently.
5) get 2 of my friends addicted.

Finish off course I got built in Burlington, Ma (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=3241)

Get a new proposal approved for pulic or private course

Play for fun more

Play as fwe tournaments as possible

Continue on 25-30 new courses per year pace

Finally make it to Vermont and Rhode Island courses

Meet more nice people from DGCR like Biscoe and DeafDiscGolfer

To not play any DG. Instead I hope to use all my budgeted DG time (and more) installing a course I am proposing. I hope it gets approved before 2010 starts and funded before the summer (that would be amazingly quick....but it is my hope and my goal).

Will you be the first to review it and how many thumbs up will you get . . . just kidding of course . . . that is awesome, I am getting into the idea of helping truly promote and build the sport, rather than just play it all the time.

I am meeting up with a few guys in Appleton tomorrow after I play a few courses to help them cut up some old fallen trees. This will be my first experience of working on a course. Unfortunately it isnt one of my local courses, but the other local guys who run the maintenance still have never called upon me to help out. I have offered my time and some of my equipment to them multiple times, but noone has notified me of a specific work day.

Get at least 300 days of exercise. Mountain bike, disc golf, long walk, whatever.
Break par at Rankin in the long tees. Or the shorts.
Find a good, local, consistent, and reliable source for high quality authentic bottle conditioned Scotch Ales.
Play more disc golf.
Ride my bike more.
Go ice climbing.
Laugh every day.
Stay in business. This economy sucks. (that one goes for the rest of this year too)

I want to get my putting percentage up from about 50% at 20-25 feet to 80% at 25-30 feet. My puuting is what is preventing me from being an open player and not an AM player.

1.Work on my consistency in driving. I like my driving distance but I spray a bit more than I want to.

2. My putting is coming along, but I work to make 25' putts when they should be routine. So shore those up then increase reliable putting distances.

3. Work on driving with midranges more. Really what I want there is just to be able to throw my Roc 300' dead straight. I think a few weeks of work will get me there.

4. Start working shaping more, particularly anhyzer drives.

5. Play a few springtime PDGA sanctioned tourneys. I should be over 950 with any one of the above mentioned things happening. Then play a major and clean up.

6. Finish designing my first course. Yeah I know that is the beginning of the work, but I am up for it.
World domination fits in here somewhere, just not sure where.

My goals for 2010

1) Join PDGA

2) Improve my constantly drives from 350-450´ to 450-500ft

3) Win at least one tournament

4) Beat the course record at my course(The record is "47" ,5 under par)

5) Make a basic site where you can see different things that can improve your distance throws(I am working on it right now).

Sounds great!

I want to keep playing (as I haven't played for an entire year yet)

I want to set up temp courses at local parks with my dad.

I want to play the buffalo area courses

I want to meet up with DGCR people and play more!

I want to join the PDGA, the Greater Rochester Disc Golf Club, and play in some tourneys.

I want to find a mini that I can freaking get to: AKA one that isn't on Tuesdays! *grumble*

I want to work towards getting a more local course installed.

And I want to play DG while on a vacation out of state. Preferably someplace warm while it's still cold here in NY.

1) I hope to hit 50 courses played, I am at 42 to date.

2) I hope to make it to Charlotte in the 2010 summer and play a few of the courses in that area.

3) Get my rating above 900.

4) Play at least one sanctioned tournament per month.

5) I hope to play in the Bowling Green Amateur Championship.
