[Innova] Beat in pro destroyer?

Hello, I have a pro destroyer 175g and I have been playing with it for about 3 months now. People always talk about how easily they beat in. I've hit about 10-15 trees and throw it about 5 times a round sometimes more, sometime less. It still has no visible flaws. How long should I expect before it begins to change flight patterns?

How far are you throwing it? This also changes how easily you will see changes to flight characteristics.

I also don't notice (most) discs beating in nearly as fast as some people claim...but I do play on courses that are mostly grass with some trees and occasional roots...no harsh rocks and such.

People exaggerate how quickly pro breaks in sometimes. It also depends how far you throw and how hard the tree hits are.

I typically throw between 300-350, will the flight path change regardless if it has any physical changes?

The flight will change when the nose gets bent down and chewed up. You could go a whole summer and your destroyer may not break in.

You'll likely see more difference if it's thrown around 350+. Is it quite overstable for you right now?

Use it for spike hyzers, forehand skip shots, etc. until it gets more mellow.

It will break in faster compared to premium plastics. That doesn't mean it will break in fast, per se. Love me some pro destroyers, been bagging them since the came out. One generally lasts me close to a year, sometimes more, before it gets relegated to roller duty or passed on to a friend who doesn't throw super hard

Just beat it up intentionally? How is this a question.. Throw the damn thing into the ground. Repeat.

Then you will have real world experience vs random responses. Much more valuable on the course.

I got a big dent in mine throwing rollers into a chain link fence. I like pro plastic but don't have much of that grade in my bag these days. Have dropped my Pro Wraiths for the time being in favor of Dragon Juns.

Pro plastic is a nice middle ground between DX that breaks in immediately and champ/star that takes a year of constant play. It takes a couple months of regular play to break in but holds the sweet spot for quite a while (more so in an x comet but pretty good for Wraiths in my experience)

I have two Pro Destroyers that I am beating in at the moment. One is a little older run, stiffer and has a little pop-top. The other is newer run, softer and a little flatter. The newer one is beating in quicker, but not too quick. I would have to say that the dome and stiffness would also play a role in how fast it will beat in or at least that is my experience.

This.^ Playing 1-2 times a week, my pro Katana takes a while to break in and then holds solid for a while after that.

I think a domier Pro Destroyer would be awesome. The 2 I have (F2s) are pretty flat compared to most of my Stars. Are there any of the current run that are domey or do you have to get older runs?

I just made a order. Got 3 star and 2 pro F2s. Nice high plh and domey. I originally stuck a star and pro in the bag but they are very close in flight and distance right now so just throwin the pro right now. My original pro is flatter and now flippy. So just bagging the two pros right now, sometimes a champ if super windy or I need skips and some reason thunderbird or firebird isn't doing it.

I also bought two flat star firebirds, 2 flat star atlas and a champ banshee for a friend. Firebirds are beefy goodness. Atlas is just like my first run . Banshee was for my best friend, seems tamer then other champ banshees I've seen him throw.

I bought them to replace a older run star destroyer I had for like a year and which had a lot of life . Practicing forehand rollers and it just disappeared. Searched for two hours!

At 300ft power you may take quite a while before you start to see the Destroyer mellow out. Most of the pro discs I have thrown have seasoned within 1-2mo and hold that level for a long time. That said, I am a 400ft destroyer thrower and also somewhat prone to hitting trees hard...

You can also tune pro plastic pretty easily off the course. I spent a couple episodes of TV idly bending the rim down on a flat stable pro destroyer and it held the tune well enough to be my new hyzer flip roller disc without the chewed up rim it would have if I seasoned it to that point on the course. I don't like chewed up rims I fidget too much with my grip right before the throw if there's jaggies all around the rim.

Bump for 2017...I'd like to move up to Destroyers this year and a Pro version that will beat in readily but not become useless too quickly sounds good to me. Curious to hear from anyone still throwing these...what weights are you throwing, how do they fly for you, how are the latest runs molding up, etc...?

Pro can be iffy plastic. It can change flight on you suddenly and without reason. I had a Pro Wraith that did. Nearly perfect condition and all of a sudden one day it went flippy. Usually people equate the change in flight of a disc with the disc having noticeable wear (road rashes, gouges, scrapes). With pro that isn't the case. I almost think that over time the plastic warps and changes shape enough to alter the flight of the disc.

Well that's pretty weird.

Only thing I'm trying to avoid is a destroyer that is overly beefy and will take a long time to season. Any advice along that line would be appreciated.
