[Innova] The Savant

Savant isn't terrible I guess, but not awesome.

I like the Deadelus name, just didn't care for the disc itself.

CFR used to stand for Candy Fund Raiser, maybe they changed it, but I will always refer to it as such.

Savant syndrome is a condition in which a person with a mental disability, such as an autism spectrum disorder, demonstrates profound and prodigious capacities or abilities far in excess of what would be considered normal in a particular field.

Way to go, Innova. I thought mental disabilities were Discmania's gimmick?

I didn't think Savant was still a recognized term for diagnosis of mental health conditions?

Apparently it is. Savant syndrome is a rare but extraordinary condition in which a person with serious mental disabilities has some "island of genius" that stands in marked, incongruous contrast to the overall handicap. It is supposedly more common in those with traumatic brain injuries.

Is this gonna be just another random mold that gets gets made for a few CFRs and Tourney stamps? Innova is making a long list of these discs.

Any opinions on this? I actually have one, but I sort of forgot about it and haven't thrown it since I got it. The description on DGV and the flight on Inbounds make it look pretty flippy. Is that accurate or is it more like a CD? I will probably take it out this weekend, but I was just curious if anyone has any more opinions.

With my 400-425 feet of power this thing does not flip. I tested it against my volt, which I put out to 375 consistently and have put out further, and it is every bit as HSS and is moderately more LSS. Covers a hair less distance than the volt, it seems because of slightly less glide still put it out to 360 pretty regularly. 175g pearly blue champion plastic. Don't know if I got a freak or anything, but I'd compare it to a fresh champ thunderbird, with the savant having a hint of turn as opposed to the thunderbird having practically none.

I hear it's like an average players thunderbird. Very straight unless you got a huge professional arm

i have 3 of them from different tourneys and i am trying to use it as my OS Thunderbird slot. the only Thunderbird i don't have is a champ, and the Savant is the reason for that. It flies a little less distance than a Thunderbird but more than a TeeBird. fits perfectly in between and throws well as a FH too. I enjoy mine and most of the people that have used them like it as well

I saw that DGC just got a new stock of these. I'd be considering buying a CD2 already, does anyone know how they actually compare? Numbers are the same.

I've got the Champ Sidewinder, I've got (a lot of) Valkyries... now why would I need a Savant?

(Serious question, there...)
