[Innova] THE Roc3 Thread

I stopped using dome to determine stability a few years ago when I grabbed some domey Surges and they were all over the place. PLH is slightly better to judge, but I think I'll be trying out the advice in the picking the perfect Destroyer thread.

My Star Roc3s are FAF board flat, but my McBeth 3x Champion Roc3s are not that flat... the Champ Roc3s are kinda like TL3s... not flat, but not domey. They fly just like the Star Roc3s... straight with a finishing fade. All good discs.

Anybody try the Joe Rovere Color Glow Champ Roc3's from last year? How do they compare to a 4x Champ?

Or since they renamed the McPro Aviar to the Tour series aviar, maybe they can rename the McPro Roc3 to something else or give it to someone else.

Either I can see the future or innova reads this post.

looks nice

Who says its not a roc?
The mods who moved these comments from the OG Roc thread. Not that I blame them, Roc3s really should be discussed in a separate thread, and since there is one, here we are.
KC Pro/McPro/Tour Series Pro > DX
Rancho > 3

Depends on what you want it for. I have several worn in Champ Roc3s that fly like fresh McPro/whatever they want to call it, so I prefer DX b/c I can beat it in a little faster (I don't play as often as I did a few years ago, so it takes more to season a disc). And to be honest, the DX Roc3s I have are not really that flippy yet, so why spend more for something that works just as well?

Please tell me these are the old McGlows. Those are my favorite straight mids

Never knew they moved them. Seems kinda odd since we can talk about other roc molds so why not the roc3

I'm still trying to hammer out my mid lineup. It's going to be some combination of roc3 and comet. Any comparison of the different base plastics out there?

I've thrown almost every Roc3 plastic out there.

In terms of stability:

DX < McGlow = G* < Star < Luster < Color Glow Champ< Champ < Glow Champ < Metal Flake

I haven't tried Splatter Star, Shimmer Star, or DX Color Glow.

This is true in general, but a caveat from my own experiences: I was using Star Roc3s and the GStar Roc3 flew just like it. So I decided to try a (Paul McBeth 3x) Champion Roc3 as a more stable pairing. Alas... the Champion Roc3 flew virtually identically with my Star Roc3s: straight with a finishing fade.

The Metal Flake does start out a bit more overstable than the Champion and Star Roc3s, though. My DX Roc3 started out like the others, but beat in very quickly, so there's that.

Picked up a Tour Series Roc3 recently and noticed they are nowhere near last as flat as last year's McGlows. Also, it looks like they are stamped differently. Maybe it's just the way mine looks but it doesn't look hot stamped. No complaints, just an observation. Can't wait to throw this thing.

I've been trying to beat in a DX Roc for a few months, and it has yet to show ANY turn. After multiple solo-disc rounds and after a forehand roller session with friends in a gravel parking lot, it's still super straight, but it has lost its fade. I like it.

I bought a 180g DX Roc3 hoping for a little more fade and thought I was starting my cycle, however it showed gentle turn on the very first throw! After one round, I really like it - very slight, predictable turn with predictable fade to finish straight. I'm just surprised as I assumed this would have more HSS and LSS than my DX Rocs.

Is it common knowledge that DX Roc3s show more turn than DX Rocs?
