2016 Pro Worlds

Everyone keeps saying 2 strokes, but isn't he only 1 stroke worse off?

If he played the hole properly he would have taken a 5 instead of a 4. He saved a stroke there, penalty of 2, net of 1. Right?

That's what I said earlier... McBeth effectively/practically lost only one stroke due to the penalty.

P.S. to everyone: don't know why EMac would be upset with McBeth. McBeth self-called the penalty, admitted he did it wrong and made a mistake. Never questioned the rules (that we know of), never raised a stink about it. Maybe others are hammering EMac on the wording and he's taken it personally...

So it looks like we got another potential penalty situation. Devan and Ricky threw the exact same disc, and apparently neither were uniquely marked...

First time is a warning, so there will be no penalty strokes. Ricky and Paul are jawing about it; Ricky says his disc was marked, but "faintly"; McBeth is ticked because they didn't self-call. Devan did admit his disc was not marked.

So I just woke up from a nap because watching disc golf literally puts me to sleep. And she just told me. Paul mcbeth looks like he's a douche, I said I didn't think he was. Then she said he was trying to get them in trouble for their discs not marked, or faintly marked. And wouldn't let it go for like 3 holes?

What hole/time was the marked disc talk about on?

Apparently they both said it was just faded. Paul was a little miffed but nothing came of it. The weird thing to me was that ricky walked up to what turned out to be devan's disc and tilted the disc to look at the underside up without marking it, is that legal?

Good question.

Should be a penalty, warning at the least.

Not sure and I don't want to do any math, lol. but the broadcast just ended and my first comment was maybe 5-15 minutes after it happened.

roughly 2hr20min ago, don't know exactly what time they teed off so cant go from there.

Why should it be a penalty? If it was his disc and he didn't want to mark it how else would he check? Tilting the disc to see the underside won't change the lie. If he picked it up off of the ground that may be a different story, but it wouldn't matter whose disc it was in that case either.

Nikko putting in work! Ricky has really leapt ahead of the field today, but there is still enough rounds for some other players to threaten his lead, namely Nikko and Paul McBeth.

Cant wait to see the lead card video from today...should be great golf.

Well if Paul was trying to rattle Ricky it sure backfired, now he's even behind Nikko. Ricky may end up winning this by 15+ strokes, just amazing -- especially for a guy with a bad ankle.

"and nikko is taking all 3min of his 30seconds..." Terry

rofl

That's funny. That bugs terry more than any of the players he's always bringing it up too lol. Dixon jowers is like don't let it bother you, that's your problem. Haha

Apparently Ricky is not cool and good enough to autograph top of his disc? I mean I sign the bottom because I suck and don't want people to realize its mine 20 feet off the tee.

I have to give props to smashboxx with the live feed today. Both lead cards. Like the Idea. Gives the FPO a chance to have a showcase. With all the next day stuff coming out, any missed holes, or plays should be easy to watch. Personally I hope this is future when it comes to Worlds kind of broadcast.

Ricky has that nice lead going into the final round but cant help to think that Mcbeths going to unleash tomarrow to pull within a couple going into the semi's

The chat on the live stream was terrible. There were notable disc golf companies, pioneers, and other good folks, then there were the morons. Any serious question was devoured by the myriad of negative comments and a Mcpuns. The amount of sexist comments when they would switch over to FPO was disgusting. It really made me wonder about the future generation of disc golfers. It needs to be turned off , It makes disc golfers look like Mcidiots.

With McBeth's 2-stroke penalty in the 1st round, Ricky had the hot rounds each of the first 3 days. That's pretty dominant. It's Ricky's tournament to lose.

What'd they say? I didn't watch any. But I'm guessing you are overreacting.

Can someone elaborate on how Worlds works? I am new to DG and am used to the regular tournaments of 3 rounds and the winner (Ricky at this point) wins and that is it. What is this "semi finals" and "finals". Top "X" amount of people make it to semis so Ricky being 6 shots ahead is irrelevant?

Tilting the disc can most definitely change the lie.
