My Dynamic Discs Sniper bag sucks

I bought a Dynamic Discs Sniper bag in the beginning of the year and after 3 months of use the bottom of the bag has rounded because of a flimsy bottom and now my bag falls over and my discs fall out. I contacted Dynamics warranty department and was asked to send in pictures of my bag. I was told that my bag wasn't covered under warranty because their is no damage to my bag. I would think that a bag that has the bottom round over because of a crappy bottom and now constantly tips over discs fall out would be covered. In my opinion this is a design flaw. Just wanted to let everyone know how much this bag sucks before you waste your money on one. I am not impressed with their customer service whatsoever. I have decided to just sell this bag and all of my Trilogy plastic and get a Grip bag and go back to my Innova and Discraft discs.

Thanks, I think so too. I started throwing Innova and Discraft a long time ago and threw them for years. I still have my Innova and Discraft discs from before I switched to all Trilogy so it might take a round or so to get used to them again but it shouldn't be too hard.

If your going to Innova and such, get the super hero bag. No problems with it so far, had it 8 months. Sturdy lots of storage and way way cheaper then any other bag in its class.

How well does it stand? I didn't think those had a frame in them. I thought they were kind of like the Magellan bags.

They stand just find, low and wide so they're as solid. Has an insert that holds the sides up. Even if it does tip (on pretty steep hills usually, no bag can overcome gravity) the disc never seem to fall out. Disc pocket is deep and flap is more like 10-15 discs wide but the pocket fits close to 20. Storage pockets expand and can fit about 4 discs in each, 3 putters. Or everything you may need. I've got an umbrella, rain coat, hat, gloves, bug spray, first aid kit, and snacks and what not. My only problem is it fits so much I over pack and it gets HEAVY.

Also the base has sturdy plastic runners and feet similar to a sturdy travel suitcase. It's definately made to be used. I'm not soft on anything, so if it lasts I'm pretty impressed.

Thanks I will definitely give them a look before I buy a new bag. I saw the Discraft Buzzz Grip bag and they look pretty nice. I just don't know if it will be more bag than I need. I originally went with the Sniper because it was the smallest backpack I had seen except for the small Grip bag. I only carry about 12-15 discs and a couple putters with me so I wanted something relatively small.

I use Discraft Tournament bag.

I use a old 2007 Discraft Tournament bag. I recently at end of 2016 put Outcast fishing clip on backpack straps to the bag. If you are not carrying much the newer bags of the same type are better with some tough fabric loops for the quad type straps Min did not so I had to make a hole on the right side, it looking at the bag from the front. I did permanently add a soft stroller cup holder to the bag in 2016 as well as make the original strap more comfortable. The Discraft Tournament bag holds about 16-17 discs if you pack the bag right, plus has more storage then the Sniper bag. I have see a guy on one of my two local course using the sniper bag and it had the straps and handhold sewn with fishing line to save them from falling off, That is another problem the bag has.

Poor customer service and poor business sense. They lost at least one customer, probably more after this thread, by refusing to be flexible. That's a shame.

OP, have you looked at the Upper Park Shift? Capacity is right in your wheelhouse.
I've got a Grip A-series that I love, but when I ordered the Shift for my fiance I was so impressed I ordered one for myself also.

Yeah so I'm a big fan of my DD Sniper bag and while your complaints are valid, I quickly rectified them with a can of plasti dip and about $5 worth of PVC pipe. :\ Falls over 80% less (it's still top heavy if you have much in the top pocket) and the discs don't fall out anymore.

It's still a great value backpack bag, you just have to improve it a bit.

While I understand what you have done and I am sure it works well I just don't think the consumer should have to modify a new product for it to work properly.

Dynamic sent me an email this evening that stated after a reevaluation of the pictures of my bag they have offered to replace it or give me credit on a new bag of my choice. I can't help but wonder if this offer was because I emailed corporate and explained to them my feelings on the bag and poor customer service. I got my response in 3 days which I feel is a little bit long to wait but nevertheless they have at least tried to make it right. I think I am just going to sell this one and buy a different bag from another manufacturer because I just feel that if I had to go through this much trouble to get this bag replaced, how much trouble will I have if I get another one that is bad. At this point in time I don't really feel like giving them any of my money.

This thread and personal experience with their plastics means that after my doubles tourney tommorow, I'm done with Trilogy, except for buying a players pack from a friend who is running a TC, just because I want to help the TD out and see how horrible Trilogy failed at making a TeeBird clone.

I have had a DD Sniper bag for around 8 months with no problems, your's might just have been defective when you bought it. I play 6 days a week and have my bag filled with disc.

I have not looked at the Shift but I do have a Focus that I like a lot. It is a great bag if I am just going to a local course and know what I need to bag. I will definitely take a look at the Shift. Thanks for the suggestion.

I don't have anything in the top pocket of my bag except a couple of score cards and it still falls over even with a Gatorade in the drink holder.

I thought it was defective as well which is why I contacted the warranty department, only to be told there isn't anything wrong or defective with my bag. A person has to wonder why they came out with a Gen 2 Sniper bag so quickly. I have the first Gen with no putter pocket.

Oh I totally understand that viewpoint as well. I've never had a bag that I thought was perfectly designed (those Upper Park Shifts look close, if I go big for my next backpack I'll probably get one) so it makes more sense for me to spend significantly less on a entry level bag like the Sniper and mod it up to my satisfaction than to spend a lot more on a premium bag and still have to mod it. You're talking to a guy that has gotten 5+ vigorous years out of his Fade Crunch box, the cheapest decent bag around.

I can't fault you there, I wouldn't have bought the Gen 1 Snipers either. No putter pocket is dumb and for the Sniper it's a double whammy because having a putter in the putter pocket on the Gen 2 helps a lot with counterbalancing the straps and keeping the bag upright.

I'm sorry that bag has soured you on Trilogy though, I think their stuff is generally as good as anybody else's and honestly three days response for customer service is pretty good for a DG company in my experience. :/ In the words of Billy Bob Thornton from Bad Santa, "they can't all be winners."

Cheers
