Which is better, the Beast or the Valkyrie?

The Beast is 10,5,-2,2; the Valk is 9,4,-2,2. If you had to bag one or the other, which would you choose?

I'd take the Beast, but only if it was a Beast X. Not the Beast L. The Beast X is a nice driver. Somewhat understable. Good S curves with a reliable late fade.

I hated the Beast L. I felt like it was a totally different disc than the Beast X and I never liked it. It seemed flippy and clunky.

On the course I used a champion Beast X for years. Perfect disc for shots out to about 400'. The Beast would take all the arm I had and perform.

I have nothing against the Valk, but I don't find it as useful. If I'm throwing speed 9 I want something with more beef to it (Thunderbird).

I've thrown both, the Valk is in my bag the Beast is not. But I'm getting my bag to speed 9 and under.

I think most players would benefit from using Speed 9's & under.

I prefer the Valkyrie because it's lower speed makes it more controllable. I get a lot done on the course with a Max weight champion (FH) & a Star (BH) in the lower 170's.

My favorite Valkyrie is the production glow champion that were out in recent years. They were flat & on the 9/4/-1/2 spectrum. Really hoping Innova makes more of them. Let's all email Innova together to make this happen.

Also, save yourself from filtering through the Beast X vs L headache. Valkyries are Valkyries. From there just decide your weight & plastic.

ive thrown valks that were fb stability and ive thrown valks that were flip machines

i never hunted down beasts to throw them but i remember the difficulty of trying to guess is it x or l (older throwers know about this more)

hmmm the common denominator seems to be innovas consistency??????/

There are Star Valks out there that were pretty flat and very overstable, especially relative to 'normal' Valks. I know because I got one of them, and could never beat that thing in, despite hot water 'tuning' and throwing it onto asphalt and into brick walls. So watch out for those flat-top Star Valks, and you should get what you're looking for.

Agree. Innova should have discontinued Beasts rather than change them as dramatically as they did.

I've never had a really beefy Valk, but I've sure seen some Vikings that were. I'm talking like Firebird overstable.

If/when I throw Valks (which is super seldom) I want ones with some dome, and heavy. Lightweight Valks are uselessly flippy.

Same goes for Beasts. Make them domey and heavy.

I agree that the "X" and "L" situation muddles the issue vis-a-vis the Beast, but I hope poll voters will put that aside and just vote for and talk about which they prefer from their favorite Valk and favorite Beast.

Also, I'm figuring voters will use their favorite weights or whatever weight works best for them. That could be heavy or light or somewhere in between.

I kinda don't think the X/L situation messes with me much. I only like Beasts in Star, and I think all Stars are one or the other (maybe L?)

Beast has had this spot for me, but the Valkyrie is solid. I think the fact that I bag an Undertaker is one reason I prefer the Beast, since the speed and flight of Undertaker and Valkyrie are closer, I find I get less overlap with the Beast in my bag. I think I do get a little benefit from the slight increase in speed from Valk to Beast as well. But if I had a good Star Valk in the bag, I could use it in most spots where I would use my Beast.

Since I have experience with both the Beast (both X and L molds) and Valks, I actually found that both had their uses, but ThBs cover the Beast uses and Leos and a SW cover my Valk lines. For what I assume you are looking for SD (an US compliment to the SL), the SW is probably better, though an DM TD would work as would a beat Pro SL. I found the Beast-L too US for my BH, the Beast-X to be too OS for that same slot, and the Valks I've had, have either been 9,3,0,2 or 9,4,-3,0, while my SW is a 9,5,-2,.75 which is a slight bit US for what I want, but it just needs a bit more hyzer that way.

I'm a fan of the Beast in both the X and L mold. The L mold makes great rollers and the X is easy distance. The Beast-X is the only disc I've hit 500' with. Around 512' according to google maps.

It's obvious you haven't thrown the new luster run of flat stiff Valkyries.

A buddy has one.Thrown it a few times. I've gotten more distance from a new Firebird than that stupid, useless brick of a disc.

IMO Beast-X is where its at. But Valk is close. It really depends on picking one with the right shape to match your armspeed and desired flight path.

I like and have thrown both molds, however I prefer valks. I just love the feel of speed 9 drivers. Probably some overlap, but I bag Valks, Thunderbirds, cd2's and firebirds.

I'd love to get my hands on one of these glow valks. Wish they would make some color glows :D
