[Discraft] Comet love?

How does a X Comet fly? I've been struggling with premium plastic mids and I'm experimenting with flat X Buzzz's now and I really, really like them and I'm wondering if X Comet would be great also.

Well, aikalailla niin kuin ainoa oikea Comet lentää. Lähin versio prototyypistä, joka oli aikoinaan money kiekko.

There are not a lot of Elite X Comets to be had online right now. Perhaps that will change some time in the future.

The LE comets I have (2nd run, high shoulder flatter top) are the ones I like, and aren't that different from the 2018 MJ esp glow comets.

Don't have any 2019s but always looking for 2018s since that's the 1 type I carry.
I told myself that I wasn't going to get a 2019 MJ but then I went to a store and there they were. :\

The 2018's MJ's I have are really low shouldered and seem very flat because of it. The Sparkle Ledgestone and now this 2019 MJ I have picked up (because I evidently have a specialty Comet run problem) have a high shoulder so more of the dome I tend to look for; they are kinda 3rd-run LEish (which was the run I liked.) So I'm guessing the 2019 Tour Series is going to be on the beefy side for a Comet, but it's been raining (again!) so I haven't thrown it.

Of course all the specialty run Comets are 177g+; they run all those heavy. My go-to Comet right now is a Big Z with the same sort of high-shouldered dome but it's 173-174g. I generally throw Z Comets in that general 171-175g weight range, so I think I've always counteracted the extra beef a bit with the lighter weight. I still have my $ Comet from back in the 90's; it was penned 171g so I've always thrown a lighter Comet. I should probably stop buying all these heavy specialty runs.

I don't know why but I want one of those jawbreaker comets from ledgestone

Haven't thrown it yet but it looks and feels really nice:

(Sorry picture didn't come too, it's from MJ/Comet love)

Ok I'm prepared to think about it.. Looks camouflaged though.. Maybe not..

Damn why do I want so many Comets..

I want my old Elite X back.. 179g... never should have given it to my friend so he could forget it somewhere... seems like a needless tragedy. That old plastic was sexy, it's hard to get behind new X.. It's a shadow of what once was.

Anyone get there hands on jawbreaker comet yet? I'm wondering if it's softer and or stiffer and what the dome is like.

There's a guy in the other Comet thread that has one he posted a pic I tried to quote unsuccessfully

Here it is, it's very soft and gummy, I was surprised. As far as the Dome I'll have to compare it to my Z and ESP comets and let you know. For now though here are the pictures:

I have not but I will by this weekend.

I love the sound of the soft and gummy.. How gloriously soft is it? I only saw but didn't own a jawbreaker, how's durability on them?

Smite me down now for even mentioning this but the Tursas in TP plastic is the closest in feel to the old Elite X, it helps it was blessed with being the same dark blue colour. Hit two aces with that the league night after buying it maybe it was one ace and a CTP I remember I'd almost paid it off in the first night.

That being said the right ESP plastic is awesome, I have a thing for the feel of the yellow ESP.

The sticker weight says 167 to 169g on the jawbreaker comet, I would say it's medium soft and very grippy. I love the feel of this thing but being on the lighter side I'll be curious to see how it flies. I'm not sure about the durability of Jawbreaker plastic, this is the first one I've owned.

Also, my Z comet is from 2014 & my ESP is from 2018.

Did Ledgestone ever put "Insurance" on any of their discs before? :gross:

You know lately I have tried to use an X comet on a number of 3-disc rounds, and honestly, it's been a disappointment.

On a windy desert course, it would flip. Amazing in a tailwind, but otherwise a liability.

On a calm wooded course (pier), I found it consistently shorter than I wanted, by about 20-30'. They won't get up and go down a tunnel for me like a Buzzz would, they fly perhaps too much like a putter.

I really like Z comets but had been trying to incorporate X into a cycle to kick out my US mold, but I have since switched to a buzzz of some kind. More specifically, wasp / X buzzz or ESP buzzzSS / tursas

Preaching to the choir here... I don't love the X plastic these days feels too much like D.. The Tursas is nice... personally I try and beat my ESP ones in. Especially flat ESP for a faster result, but I love the Z flight the most especially once you beat it in..it only took me about 5 years with my glow Z haha

I love the flight and feel of my x comets but after just a couple rounds it has so many gashes etc. least durable plastic I think I've thrown.
