The Inevitable 2022 Pros Switching Sponsors Thread

Wonder what happens with the lady that was his manager this past year?

From Ricky Wysocki's Instagram"

"I am excited to announce that I have partnered with @shaffersportsagents as my agent! They will be working with Ari and I to grow the Sockibomb brand and bring some special stuff to disc golf! I'm thankful for the team I have around me and the future is bright!"

Anybody know anything about Ricky's agency? Didn't know if Shaffer was somebody involved in dg in some capacity like the other dude who used to be the team manager for Prodigy?

Quick google search doesn't pull up anything, but there is a Shaffer Sports and Events…a company who handles all the temporary seating fixtures and whatnot like you see at big PGA events.

And a random side comment…I'm assuming McBeth had somebody help negotiate his initial deal with DC, and probably his 10 year extension. I believe he referenced the agency group that was started a couple of years ago…don't recall the name right now.

The agency definitely did the first deal. I don't think they did the second though as they went out of the biz. I can't recall the name either right now.

Wonder whats Rickys "worth" is in 2022, i guess his agent want "McBeth money" but can he really get even close to that?
Kristin got more than i thougt Lat64 could pay, how much can DD pay for Ricky?

Ricky can move plastic. Before Ricky was with Innova no one was throwing pigs. Now I see half of the people at league throwing them. I remember harps were very popular too, now not so much. It's crazy how much we get influenced by what guys throw on camera.

I know Innova has released a ton of random putters and approach discs the last couple years but I'm really surprised they still haven't put out another truly overstable one.

Yes, Ricky breathed some life back into the pig, but it seems like coming up with a new mold that they could actually run in premium plastic would be worth the effort.

Would be fun to see sale stats on.

NOVA before and after McBeth. . .this must be a HUGE diff.
HARP before and after Ricky
PIG before Ricky. . .and after if he Leaves

Dunipace is pretty vocal about hating "dumpy" overstable types of discs. He only makes them to satisfy the pros. I get the feeling if he had it his way he would just tell kids to "get good and throw the invader or animal" instead of asking for a zone :D

I personally like the rat from the few times I threw it, but I know it's not as overstable as some would like.

He's definitely worth the 4 years at 4 million that he signed for.

I think the Croc was an attempt at this and didn't catch on, maybe the Toro that Heimburg has been throwing around is going to come out in 2022 in Star & Luster? I think its a speed down from Gator/Caiman with a 4 speed rim. Could see Heimburg getting a second TS disc.

Rat speed rating is a bit misleading. It has the rim width of a 2-3 speed. They adjusted the flight numbers since release as well (4/2/0/3 -> 4/2/0/2)

Haven't seen many recent stock runs of any OS approach/mid discs (Rat/Gator/AviarX3/Caiman) recently from Innova other than the TS Gator3s and Pigs for Freeman & Wysocki.

If Innova loses a few players from their top 2 teams maybe we see more focus on international competition & players with the Japan Open/European Open hopefully happening?

At least for my store, the answer is a drastically lop-sided YES, what you think happened to those molds happened. Pro players definitely have a huge direct effect on disc sales.

Infinitediscs does their yearly sales stats, you should be able to find them there. I remember seeing really pronounces spikes on the graphs on several discs of this type.

The disc sales thing also might be something of a chicken and egg thing.

I didn't really know what a Pig was until Ricky started throwing them. And the infinite did some special stamps, infinite had some sales, local stores started putting them on displays. I walk in the store and start holding Zones and Harps and Jokeris and the store owner tells me to grab up a Pig. Etc.

also, I bet having the pig in an interesting premium plastic (color glow pro) got some people to check it out

Are you saying Rick signed for a mil a year for 4 years with DD? Source?

When there is this much smoke in the DG community, there's certainly fire. Ridge Roller also already leaked the details and promptly deleted it. Stole the DD thunder and got people talking about RR.

While tempted, I'm not going to try to make bets for personal gain, like another member here has done who had insider information. :D
