It's not much of a secret to most people that The Valkyrie Kid is on their own level among the reviewers on our site, but let's put some things in perspective. 2015 is Valkyrie's first year as your Reviewer of the Year, but 8th year on a top 25 list. Valk wrote 636 reviews from 2008 to 2014, years they did not place 1st on a list.

How many reviewers have at least 6 reviews, the lowest number to potentially make one of these lists? 3,041.
Remove 2007, and that number jumps to 20 reviews. Reviewers with at least that number? 588

The number of reviewers to review 636 courses on this site? 2. Welcome to The Valk Era of DGCR, because they aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

We see a tie at 2nd, with sisyphus and reposado rounding out the podium. I'm sure this has been addressed already. Out of sheer curiosity, how are you compiling the lists? I know the slowest, most ineffective way of checking every single user's profile. But, I suspect there's a better way. Or, you really are that bored waiting on the baby.

I bet there's a better way as well, but I definitely went through each profile. I put together a list for each year and then just set the list of reviewers in descending review count order and went from there. Overtime numbers start to lock in, and once I was lower than 20 reviews per reviewer I could just look for the DGCR numbers that were under 330 for the 2007 list.

There's plenty to do at home to be in a good spot for the baby. Work can be very slow at times, so that's the main time I've done this project. It's been kind of fun looking at different profiles, many of which are users I wouldn't have otherwise known about.

Who knows, maybe the kid decides this will be Mom's first Mother's Day ...just to make Hyoo's prediction come true! :p

Sir Valkyrie Kid lands their 2nd ROTY in a row with their highest single year review count through 2022. Newcomer diamond reviewer Pizza God debuts with a silver medal, and also-newcomer and gold reviewer lazrman778 takes the bronze.

The most notable addition in this list has to be wellsbranch250, who is currently DGCR's third most prolific reviewer and second most rewarded member by thumbs. Pizza God and wellsbranch250 are the final members of the all-time top 10 to show up on a list.

Other notable newcomers in 2016 include diamond reviewer thrembo, who is the latest addition to the diamond reviewer club, and cubic zirconia member pmay5. Other new members include trusted reviewers lazrman778, mrbro855, Shifty06, and enragedmullet.

Sir Valkyrie Kid completes our second three-peat as your 2017 ROTY, with wellsbranch250 and Mr. Butlertron taking the silver and bronze medals in each of their second straight appearances on a ROTY list. The Valkyrie Kid also becomes the first person to be one of the top 25 reviewers in 10 separate years, a feat that is only held by one other DGCR member as of 2023 (make your guesses now as to who the other reviewer is, if you're into speculating).

New to the top 25 reviewer club in 2017 diamond reviewer Bennybennybenny, as well as cubic zirconia member DiscinOhio. Other newcomers include trusted reviewers Mike C, djtripp20, jjtwinnova, The Katana Kid, armiller, ivanhenson, and lathama (one of I believe only a couple if not the only top 25 list inductee to live outside the U.S.).

This is another list with a larger number of one-and-done appearances, with eight folks on this list not appearing in another year. There's not another year between 2017 and 2022 that matches that count.

MrFrosty is unfortunately no longer with us, having passed away in January 2022. This is the only prominent member of DGCR that I know of that's no longer with us, but Mark Dulaney contributed plenty to this site. As of today, his 387 course reviews are the 11th most anyone has contributed, and his 764 courses played (just about everywhere east of the Mississippi) is the 44th highest of any course bagger on DGCR, and 21st most of any trusted reviewer. Plus, he contributed more than 1,000 thumbs to other reviewers, including many if not all who are following these lists. Throw a disc for MyFrosty during your next round.

The review counts are noticeably low in 2019, with 29 reviews being the lowest benchmark to crack the top 10 in any year outside 2007. This is also the only year outside 2007 where 20 reviews will get you as high as 22nd.

I didn't know about MrFrostys passing. He thumbed several of my reviews and always had some great course info.

The Wellsbranch250 and TheValkarieKid dominating reviews are expected. Legendary baggers.
 
Surge was right, baby came yesterday before 2020 could be posted, lol. Please enjoy this intermission while I get to know this overachiever of a pooper that I'm now responsible for.
