[Innova] The mythical Innova ROC

I picked up another new Roc; this one is a yellow 12X KC Pro.

I got a yellow KC Pro on a recommendation from on here over a year ago and it's still in my bag. I doubted yellow would be more grippy than white but that was the case.

Matte plastic? I love mine now that it's starting to lose some of its fade. Its dome has even relaxed a little.

A little tiny touch plussy though, those matte yellows. Anyone who loves them, I have some extras....

Picked up this swoosh-stamped Glow DX Roc today at the local PIAS. Looking around online, this is not current Glow Roc stamp (which I kind of figured when I bought it). Anyone know how long ago this fellow hales from?

That's a swoosh stamp. It's the last gen of stamp. The change came around the time Blizzard was released (first discs/plastic I remember seeing the current logo on). As for when it was run, your guess is as good as anybody's.

I have that same glow roc with the swoosh stamp in the center. Mine has patent #s though so don't know if that means anything. It's beat into my go to turnover/roller mid.

I think you will still see patent numbers on about any rancho roc. I always wonder if that mold survived the removal process for some reason. I seem to recall someone saying that the decision regarding the patent number in the mold was overturned at some point, but I am not sure of that. For instance, I just purchased a color champ glo USDGC roc a few weeks ago that still had patent numbers, and I KNOW that disc was molded long after the pat. # removal.

All large diameter Rancho Rocs (not Roc3s, VRocs, Roc+s, or any other variant of Roc) still have the patent numbers.

Yeah the Roc mold has never had the patent numbers removed to my knowledge. The law requiring their removal did get overturned in court, so it may just be that they hadn't gotten around to removing them yet on that particular mold before the law was overturned.

I recently got a yellow DX in the mail. I've never held a flat top before but this sure feels like one in the hand. Any input from anyone? The red one is a normal DX. The yellow one feels really flat. Sorry for the poor quality of picture.

Any cheap champion Roc options these days? Not of the plus mold variety.

Roc3 is a stock option. If you are looking for ranchos, check dgustore.com. You can find f2 champs or champ glows from this years batch of usdgcs. Type "lucha" in the search box.

Looks like a nice Roc!

Thanks.

That yellow looks like exactly the type of DX Roc I love. It's definitely not a flat top. The flat tops are board flat from about half an inch out from the edge of the disc all the way across. From your pics, that one looks like it's on the flatter end of normal for a DX Rancho with a nice, high wing. The red one looks pretty domey with a lower wing and probably less stable. PM me if you want to get rid of that yellow; cash or trade. ;)

The glow f2's are sweeeet throwers this year. First USDGC rocs to make the bag in a while. I got one that is almost a flat top and it flies like a 180 KC pro roc with a touch more fade. The other one has some dome and is way more overstable.

That's a nice Roc but it's not flat. It's "just right".

I did a lot of experimenting with the Roc3 recently in DX, G* and Champ and can't believe how much I prefer a regular DX Roc. So much more workable.
