Is a DGA Squall a legal PDGA disc?

I found myself on the PDGA website after seeing a few turbo putts on discaroo. I was fairly certain that the turbo putt wasn't a legal disc, but thought to check out the list of approved discs....

...and happened to see that a disc I throw fairly often, a DGA Pro Line Squall, isn't on the list of approved discs. I'm wondering if anyone knows if the Squall was ever approved by the PDGA, if it's concidered legal/illegal, and if not, why it isn't approved. If I remember correctly, when I recieved the disc there was a small gold sticker on the underside of the disc, showing its weight...and I believe I remember the sticker said PDGA approved. It's my only experience with one of these stickers as I throw mostly Innova.

Am I remembering correctly? Or is the extra-cirricular activities catching up with me?

You'll find some of the DGA discs approved in the Discraft list since Discraft makes them.

Squashed the thread on the first response! But, no sweat. Just glad to see that the disc in question is legal. I've been playing with it for a good 6 months. Totally not down with throwing an illegal disc.

I'm glad to see someone else likes Squalls too, huge underrated disc. I've only got 4 aces in my 2 years of playing Disc Golf, 3 of them were with a Squall, the other with a Beast. It's supposed to be a mid-range but it's built like a driver and can deliver some long drives. The Rogue is another great DGA disc, outside of those 2, the rest of DGA is worthless, but that's another topic.

Keep throwing the Squall, I'm surprised more people don't use them.

It is a PDGA approved disc for sure, I've used it in many sanctioned tournaments over the past 2 years.

Just because a disc isn't approved doesn't mean that there's any issue with throwing it on the course, it only means you can't throw it in any sanctioned events. That said, if you play pdga events, it's not in your best interest to rely on a disc you won't be able to throw in a tourney.

I'm pretty competitive, and always try to play fairly. I thought about getting a turbo putt, but I figured that its really not going to help me in any way. So why waste my money. I was just hoping that I wasn't relying on a disc that is illegal. I would hate to use it in a sanctioned event and be penalized for using it...and then penalized for not being able to throw it when I need to.

I know there is nothing wrong with using an illegal disc in a casual round, but if I can't throw it when it means something, then I'd rather not throw it at all.

Its a really versatile, straight disc, and those who don't have big arms will really like the controlled distance. It does hold either a hyzer or an annie as well. Definitely a candidate for a one-disc tourney.

Would have been, by far, my best choice to play "one-disc" with...but I have just found the Cro, which for me has been much more predictable than any other mid I've thrown.

The Squall holds a line fairly well. Turns over easily with enough speed. In my experience, it is the closest thing to a Buzzz I've ever thrown when it comes to flight characteristics, maybe slightly more stable. If you like the Buzzz, you'll probably like the Squall. But if you're already stocked up on Buzzzes it may not be worth a try.
