USDGC 2023 - 25th edition

Ricky off to a pretty scattershot start in his bid to become a 1x.... Saves for par twice from deep C1, and from the DZ on 6. Now -2 though, so if the putting is rolling and the rest comes around we could see him in contention at the end of the day.

Did I see something about a scoring error on Elie's card?
I don't know the full details but there was a potential misplay on 16 from Maria Oliva, who may have also been in violation of the dress code FWIW.

He's doing pretty well so far, seems to be talking a little fast but he also seems pretty excited to be part of the crew. There were a couple points he was so eager to make he didn't hear Philo mention the same thing first, but he has good points to add.

Going to be an exciting lead card for FPO tomorrow. Eveliina, Henna, Kristin, and 16 year old (and first FPO to ever eagle 18 at Winthrop) Elie. Must be a dream come true to get to play on a card with those ladies.
Second; Catrina Allen eagled it r2 in 2020.

So happy for Burridge! What a great time to have a great round, hope he slays it playing with that lead card tomorrow. He's seriously just a crazy nice kid. I got to follow him a few times when he played some C Tiers around here and I was just out there to hang out with the TD (one of those Im-not-affiliated-with-the-event-but-ill-say-yes-if-asked-to-do-something sort of chill afternoons). He was great with his card, very relaxed but serious competitor. Fun to watch play.

Europe's best FPO players setting the pace

I followed him for 5 or 6 holes at DGLO this year. Awesome skillset. I would love to see him have a solid round tomorrow and stay on the lead card.🤞

Cant be that often that Eveliina and Henna makes more C1x putts than Ohn!

Climo is great on the commentary. Just a bit shame that Philo is so freakingn juiced that he talks about 70% of the time, regardless if anyone else is talking at the same time. Ian talks about 10%, Climo 40%. You do the math how much Philo talks over the champ.

Like

Ian: "So Champ, what do you think about the tournament being perceived as becoming more forehand friendly?"
Climo: "Well--"
Philo: "I WAS JUST ABOUT TO MENTION THAT"

Philo is ruining the broadcast so far. He needs to realize it's not all about him. Just Ken and Ian would be cool. A little dead air now and then is fine...it's not radio.

Philo seems like a pretty self confident person to me and that ego shows up way too much in the booth. talking over people, and the number of times he "corrects" Ian is more than annoying

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT play the drinking game of taking a shot every time Philo says "Champ". :ROFLMAO:

On a more serious note, it made coverage so unwatchable that I turned the sound off. We get it, Kenny earned the title, but it doesn't need to be said 7 times in one shot analysis...
