I want to know how far I should feasibly throw these discs if I throw them properly. By properly I mean flat, clean, and with no OAT, no hyzer flip, no flexno elevation change,....I want to know how far these discs should fly basically when thrown on a relatively line drive (<20 ft off the ground) I want to know this because it seems this knowledge would help me to know if it is really time to move up(I won't specify weights but assume in the 165-172 range)Tell me the MAXIMUM DISTANCE before performance sputters out...I am assuming some discs will turn into oblivion and others will just wormburn and others will just fall to the earth...if your able please describe how these will max out(turn, wormburn, fall to earth and slide):

Rhyno

ROC

Coyote

Leopard

TL

Tee Bird

Sidewinder

SL

Firebird

Valkyrie

Roadrunner

Destroyer

Wraith

Beast

Dragon

Archangel

Max

Strange post
I know and Im sure Im gonna get people who dont understand my question I know somewhere online there was a chart that told you how far these discs would max out at performance wise before it was time to move up....thanks in advance

I know Innova has their catalog online but I'm not sure if it mentions distances. It does have flight lines.

Catalog doesn't have distances, but it does have flight lines. Individual web page as distances/flight lines of some discs.

I have no idea how far you should be throwing these, but I'll list the max line drive flat ground distance I've gotten out of the molds I've thrown on your list. Ones I haven't thrown, or haven't tossed in a long time I deleted.

The further you push a disc, the more you're going to need a clean release / form and possibly a bit of hyzer.

With any disc, the slower you throw it, the more stable it will feel, and vice versa. You have to consider the speed ratings. If you throw an Aviar 300 feet you have to be careful not to turn it over in my experience. If you throw a Destroyer 300 feet you will redefine the term meathook. Disc ratings are based around a certain distance range, so the more you push a disc past that the more your form and release will come into play.

Rhyno 320

ROC 380

Leopard 410

Tee Bird 410

Firebird 415

Valkyrie I suck with Valks for some reason, ~380

Roadrunner 415

Destroyer Hate distance drivers, 400

If I were using these discs in my bag, here's how I'd use them, assuming we're playing open holes, straight shots, flat ground for the sake of simplicity. On a real course the line I'm throwing will sometimes change my selection. On one of my home courses I'll throw my Firebird on a 355 foot hyzer drive, which is short for a FB, but the way it fades works well for the hole and where the trees are, plus the hole ends with the pin on a decent sized hill.

Rhyno - 1-300 feet
Roc - 280-360 feet
Teebird / Leopard - 350-425
Firebird / Roadrunner - 375-450

The problem is that- as I'm sure you see- most of these discs can be thrown well beyond the distance that most will ever throw. So does that mean that you should only throw rocs and putters- I wouldn't think so.
I was playing with some local big arms and they joked that I need to disc down and throw rocKs. I had figured that if I wasn't breaking 400 I shouldn't throw anything faster then my avengers. I put a couple forces in my bag and have been throwing them further then any other disc. Granted I do think working with slows helped clean up my form and enable me to throw faster discs. My point is don't limit yourself or you may miss out.
Also, I not sweet but I never see anyone throw discs flat, especially the good players.

It is interesting to read your distances Mike. Other than the Leopard I would have put roughly those for max distance but not my maxes. Mine are less than that. Rocs maybe 300 on a line drive, I hate Leopards, Teebird about 360', and I hate wide rimmed drivers also. Since I throw a few other molds I'll add them since the rim shape is sort of similar. Orcs about 390' and Tls about 370'. My distances are still low this year because I have been forgetting about grip/snap and my hit point is not where it should be. I'll start working on that after league night tonight.

Hahah, leopards seem to get no love either online or where I play. I don't know anyone on my home courses that drives over 300 and throws one. My 175 star flies a lot like a teebird, but will finish straighter. I also really like it for hole 7 in canton where it goes straight through some pine trees then dips right, going about 350 and putting me in good putting territory.

I'm not going to tell others what to throw, but I can say that until I could consistently drive up to 300 feet with my rhyno there's no way the force, destroyer etc really started showing me what it could do. If I were to start DG over I'd buy a wizard and leopard and play with just those until I was hitting 250 and 350 respectively. I was eager to buy the fastest discs I could when I saw the really good players throwing them, likethey were the missing link in my game when it comes to distance. I now feel distance comes down to form and snap.

I'd like to see someone throw a Leo or RR 400' on a clean flat throw with out it turning over into a roller.

i was messing around with some old star sidewinders i had today with a tailwind and i was breaking 400 pretty easily with them....hyzer flips or sweeping annys.

the OP was asking for maximums on clean flat lines....so we can gauge the true max of each disc performance wise...don't want hyzer flips or flexes etc.

I could make a video for you if you'd like. I did this with my new champ Leo a few times today.

Mikec- why no location? Are you ashamed to cme from the greatest dg state?

Must of forgotten to fill that out...

Mike, if your talking about #7@ freedom- it's only 215:(

anytime you want a joiner let me know

Canton, Ohio. Should of specified :)

The Canton one is a hole that's about 360 feet. The first 100 feet is a pond, then there are some large trees, two smaller pine trees and then a slight hill the basket sits on. If you look at the picture on this site, you can see the route I'm talking about. I throw my Leopard flat with good snap in between the pine trees, and let it dip right a bit and head straight towards the pin.
