I have read some stuff and some other stuff but can't find any videos of anyone doing this. The ones on youtube that people have linked are now banned so I really have nothing to go off of. I'm relatively new to the sport so trying my leg in different types of putting so I don't get into bad habbits. Is this the put where you sorta balance the center of the putter on your thumb with your four fingers around the rim, and just sorta throw your fingers around towards the basket or what...

What you've described is a turbo putt. The push putt is a low spin putt. I can't access youtube at work or I would find some examples. I'm sure some of the fine people here will beat me to it.

That is a turbo putt.

A push putt is a putt with relatively little spin. So, you're kind of "pushing" the disc toward the basket rather than relying on spin to carry the disc to the basket.

EDIT: too slow on my part. Zenny beat me to it

Yeah, like zenny said, you're describing turbo putt. "It's for experts," as that douchetard from Village Expert said. Push putt is this VVVVV

This is how NOT to putt.

Check on youtube for Ken Climo putting...I'm sure there's something on there, clips from tourneys, etc. He is a push putter, probably the best there is.

Ah I see...So he just keeps the arm straight, uses forward momentum, and moves shoulder forward..? Can't really practice it today

Actually, Feldberg is a loft putter. He is using his shoulder as the lever arm. A push putter uses their elbow as the lever arm. Therefore, the disc is coming straight out toward the basket instead of at an upward angle.

I am a push putter. I don't put a lot of spin on my putts, but I use my legs with my arm motion going forward to putt. Check out some videos on Nate Doss because he is a true push putter.

Wow I wen't out and played today after trying to learn what dave was teaching. Just from today have gotten much more accurate from 20-30ft range. I have the problem throwing it to high usually more like a loft and it gets close but just hits top of basket or something and bounces away. Was coming up short when trying to fix that, so a few more days of practice and I think I can be lowering my score significantly. Thanks for the advice guys

Feldberg and Climo teach what they call a "push putt" in their DVD. The theory is that simplifying the motion, and reducing the number of moving body parts that you have to coordinate will produce more consistency. The theory makes sense, but when I try to imitate what Climo shows off with great skill, I end up lofting unpredictable "knuckle balls" at the basket. I'm not sure if I should just keep practicing, or if there's something I'm not understanding. It seems to help me a great deal to get my elbow at least a little bit active to help put a tad of spin on the disc. I'd love to attend a putting clinic where someone could show me hands-on what this is supposed to feel like.

I started this putt yesterday and don't have problem with spin. Have you watched the feldberg video posted on the 1st page? Stand with your feet slightly turned from the basket, when your holding the disc you should have your hand sligtly turned like your feet. As you go to one foot just open your hand like your shaking the baskets hand, or I think what they call "painting the poll". Also the grip will help with the spin, make sure your index finger is just curled under the rim, the rest of the fingers can fan out to your pref. keep the disc parallel with your arm with a slight nose up angle. Watch the video above and try this style for a week or so and i bet you get alot better at it. I showed this to my GF has played 5 times and she did much better just from the one day.

Keep practicing it. I was there for the clinic posted on the first page with Cam Todd and Dave Feldberg, I only had to change a few things in my form (less elbow, more finger roll), and It's helped a lot. Been sinkin 20 and 25 footers like nothing recently.

I've had a lot of success after watching the Feldberg clinic, but I still kind of suck at putting.

That expert village vid is soooooo bad. WTF with how he says "Thats for experts" at the end after he misses the put. And What is up with the "Basketball putt" ??? Does anyone really do that?

I think this comment is a fail. Feldberg is a push putter. And with push putts, you don't use the elbow. You keep your arm straight and use the shoulder.

And judging from the Discraft video with the guy with purple hair, it looks like Doss is a 100% spin putter. But the video may be old or I may be short of seeing.
