Your PDGA 'tax' dollars at work (now hijack free)

"you are not allowed to be angry at someone spending your money on booze for themselves" - some people in this thread that I don't really get.

no, you most certainly can be mad about it if you want, but don't act like any amount spent on alcohol is wrong and anyone that thinks otherwise is okay with being exploited and a PDGA appoligist.

Well moral absolutism find actions either right or wrong and does not consider their intentions or consequences so it is really more of a world view. A situation can't be a moral absolute but someone can view the situation through moral absolutism and conclude it is either right or wrong.

Like if I stole bread to feed my child, that is wrong in the eyes of a moral absolutist.

You're saying that regardless of the amount, as long as they're not drunk in the end,

It's not the end that matters to me. It's the intent before they even start.
If they sit down and say "lets have a meal. hmm...I'm an adult and I would like an adult beverage with my meal." I'm pretty OK with that.
If they sit down and say "let's get drunk and have someone else pay for it." I'm not OK with that.

it's perfectly acceptable to spend HOW EVER MUCH MONEY IS DEEMED NEEDED?

I said I have no moral issues with it. I may have issues from a financial standpoint.

so what do you call people that disagree with the PDGA at every turn? can we get a trendy name for that too? Please?

It's only not black and white because some absurdly moronic people think it's perfectly okay for others to exploit them on small scales. But, big scales aren't okay. Or in some really moronic cases, it doesn't matter the scale, just don't end getting pleasure out of it and you can exploit me all you want!

I just have to say, you're morally a ****ed up individual, because that's the dumbest **** I've ever heard. The Outcome is the result of the intent. Just so long as they don't sit down to get drunk, you're perfectly fine with them buying **** tons of liquor so long as no one ends up drunk in the end. ONE, $500 glass of wine with your meal is perfectly acceptable. That's not morally wrong to spend someone's money for your indulgences. If that's not exploitation at some of it's best I don't know what is. Man, can I go with you on some business trips? I promise not to get drunk. I have a really high alcohol tolerance. I'd only buy the finest meals, and liquor. Because I'm an adult and want adult beverages with my meal. We should find some sucker to pay for it all. I have an idea, this organization we're suppose to be better can pay for it while we sit around and talk about how to better it while drinking this fantastic expensive wine.

So what types of things should they spend money on that wouldn't be considered exploiting us? Assuming they are just buying a drink because it tastes good and they need something to go with their meal, what is the difference between a non-alcoholic Odoul's beer and a regular beer?

Does someone need to explain luxury items to you?
