How did you choose a putter?

Putters are a very personal choice, but I'm wondering how people came to this choice. Not your driving putter, or the putter you use inside a hundred feet or whatever, your PUTTER. The disc you use from 40' and in. Your go-to chain banging machine.

I evaluated them based on flight, durablity, feel, availability and how they performed for approaches and drives and then picked the best one at the time.

It All has to do with your style ...

do u throw a meat hook at the basket ... a solid hyzer put .. well then u might want a putter that works with that style .. sutch as somthing stable like a Rhyno,Xd,ringer,zone,Chalenger.....ect ..

Or do u throw straight at the basket relying on your putter to stay straighter longer ...
if so you would want to use a less stable putter ... sutch as a magic, vodoo, worlock, putt'r,or a ratler ...

Then u have all the tru stablilty putts that wil stay stable if u want them to ... go negitive if u want them to or go stright at it .... like the avair .. areo ..Omega... Wizard ... Focus ..and magnet ...

Its all about trial and error and whatts gona work with your own individual style ..

I went from Omegas ... to warlocks ...to wizzards ... to Focus's ....and now im on my money makers ... the RHYNO !!! i love the constancy ....i know what its gona do everytime ...

CHeck out the video of me below...in my sig ..to see my style of putting

my putter of choice came to me kind of weird.
When I first started playing a buddy of mine lent an extra putter when we played. Well I ended up moving away and putting with a pro-d buzzz for about 8 months. (lack of cash)
When I did get some money around i wanted to get the same putter I was using.(which I didn't even know what it was)
So I thought that it was a Challenger so I bought a challenger. I really liked it but it had a little too much hook on it, or I guess I just couldn't keep it straight long enough. So I looked online for something like the challenger but straighter and I found the Banger.
my go to putter now

Well...I used XDs first because at the store I bought my first set of putters from that was the only thing they had three of. I meant to switch to Gateway for awhile, but never got around to it until the Voodoo came out. Once the Ion was released I tried that and it just clicked with me, both in feel and results. I don't see myself changing molds again anytime soon.

its funny cause a Buddy of mine named prestion .. HE designed the Ion ... and had to pay 150$ to get it pdga approved .. and his uncle Owned this Plastic factory "MVP" witch was called somthing else in the begining .. and was able to create them for him ... the first runs were a completely different plastic and flightplate ..and had problems seprateing ... after some work they now have a consistant Mold and plastic .. and a wonderfull feal ..

its soo werid to se everyone wanting them and beiing all over the internet ..

cause at first it was just a buddi telling me .. hey check out this putter i made ..

im like ... for..real ? Howd u do that ??

and now there one of the most sought after putters on the market at the moment ..

Tried several different makes/models, got an ION and haven't looked back.
I still use the Omega SS though... mainly for soft layups.

trial and error... went from Aviar-X's to Warlocks. Stuck with the SS Warlock for a long time, ordered an organic one from Marshall Street, but they accidentally sent an Organic WIZARD... needless to say, I have 3 Wizards in my bag now. And a black medium Ion on the way.

I didn't choose my putter, my putter chose me.

11x KC Pro Aviar.

Lately I have been feeling like Magics were letting me down in windy conditions, picked up an 11x and it was love at first toss. Needless to say, in windy conditions she's ready to fight for me.

I got my first banger from a monthly I went to and it was given out as one of the prizes to the winners. He didn't want it and I wanted another putter in my arsenal, was throwing aviars. Fell in love with the thumb groove and now have it in all the plastics although soft is my fav. I also found a Buzz GT which has the same thumb groove i like this for those more forceful putts/approaches.

I have played with many diffrent kinds of putters. I have recently traded for a SSS Wizard and i can put like crazy with that thing. I guess to pick witch one you like best, you just have to try out many diffrent kinds and see which one compliments your putting style best.

I went to the local store and picked the coolest colored one. Ha ha.

Ended up with a Hunter Orange Puttr' X

My first putter, a dx aviar P&A, got chewed up by my dog so it went from neutrally stable to understable overnight. At first I was mad that my dog did it, but it was ok so I kept using it. I actually liked the change in stability, so I searched the internet checking which putters were understable and I saw that the Magic was.

There is a guy at the courses I play at that sells Gateway so I went to him looking for one, and I found an organic one that felt great and was just what I wanted so I bought it. Now I love it.

I also have a tournament series stamped JK Aviar that I use on longer putts when it gets windy, and the ION that zenbot dyed that I use for practice putts and its getting more and more use on the course.

I don't think I will get any more putters for a long time.

After a lot of trial and error, I settled on Magics b/c they were the most consistent for me, especially in straddle putting situations. They also give me better feedback on how or why I'm missing my putts when I'm having an off-day so it's easier for me to correct myself than with more overstable putters.

when i went to pick out my first putter after playing a couple rounds with friends, i specifically remember wanting a disc that felt the most like a frisbee you play catch with, so i picked up a used sonic and have loved it ever since for layups and even driving on short holes

I like lower profile putters and I chose to gave Latitude 64 a chance. Their Soft Zeroline plastic is awesome and the Spike has worked nicely for me from day 1.
