What would you like to see in a Dyeing FAQ page?

Agent Peabody has been great with posting up different threads about how to do different things involving dyeing. Recently, he posted a suggestion to timg to sticky them. His response was that we should create a FAQ page that held links to whatever information we think should be stickied, therefore the front page of the disc dyeing forum is not just a bunch of old threads.

So, what would you guys like to see in a FAQ? What are your frequently asked questions that pertain to disc dyeing?

A short list that I have some up with is:
-a basic RIT based how-to-dye using vinyl/contact paper (the prefered method on this site) that includes everything from removing a stamp to weeding to cleaning off the disc after it's pulled from the dye
-links to youtube videos showing how to dye
-saran wrap backgrounds
-marbled background
-which plastics are best for dyeing
-spin dyes
-other dyeing techniques (please help me here as I am pretty much a one trick pony)
-a general tips and tricks thread (I know we have a few of them floating around)

Is there anything you guys can come up with? If there is, please post it up. And if you want to be really cool, post up a link to a thread that shows what you are asking for.

We have a TON of info on this site, and we would like to create an easier way for people who haven't dyed before to find them, and thereby create more dyers in the process.

Proper water/dye mixtures would help along with the light box design info. There was also a good tutorial on how to make a gradient dye which would help too.

Oh and some tools of the trade. Special little tools that may come in handy for doing a dye. For example I just realized that a Lazy Susan is awesome for cutting dyes if don't need the light box for it.

yo skinner, i'm pretty busy so i'm just gonna send you a bunch of pictures of the dye process for the massive tutorial

That's a good idea too Skinner with the dye storage.

Along with plastic types you could maybe work in what plastics hold dyes the best and which ones my have blurring issues later on.

All this stuff is great but we should use secret codes and handshakes so only we retain the knowledge. Centuries down the road people will think that The Dyers secretly control the planet.

I can see it now... "From the bestselling of The Zenbot Code comes this year's most exciting thriller, The Lost Stencil. Available whereever books are sold August, 2178."

are they going to work? let me know if you need any different ones because i have a few dyes still to do today and tomorrow

Could something be included about remasking for multi color dyes? It might have already been included in the How-To part but it is something I have problems with.

This thread is probably gonna be huge lol. This may be difficult to do but maybe a section that explains how certain dye colors are affected by the actual disc color if you're not using a white or clear disc.

^ yeah good point. Didn't think about that considering dipping times and dye lots of the discs changing.
