what is your goal for the year

To get to 50 total courses played.
Save enough bucks for a nice 2010 spring road trip to the IDGC/PDGA headquarters/Hall of Fame/Augusta.

Get my act together and qualify for NY Ams in 2011 (2 year goal) and bring my pdga rating up not down. = )

Do you set goals for yourself

Just wandering if others set goals and if you acheived them sooner than expected? I set for my self to break the 300' mark this year and managed to do it. Also I would like to shoot par or better at Yellow Creek Course.

I've been setting goals for myself the past few years, mostly only ones that apply to playing my home course...this year I wanted to break my home course best of 51, and I kept hitting 51/52 this year (okay, maybe some higher scores in the beer rounds!), but earlier this week I went out and killed it...shot a 48. I crushed my goal bad enough (good enough?) that now I can't think of anything new to set for myself! I always say I want aces, but that's not really looking at my overall game...so I guess now it's just making putts, making putts, and making more putts. Need to get a basket, methinks...

my goal this year is to play a loop of courses in my state. its a total of seven hours driving and like 10 new courses, im super freaking pumped and cant wait to play. other than that i always try to better my average and work on my putting.

revision

These are more like summer goals.

1) Increase my comfortable putting range (right now it's only like 10 feet).

2) Increase accuracy on drives.

3) Play Pier Park, Milo Mclver, and Whistlers Bend (Seeing as I live in Oregon)

4) Help some other people enjoy the game, whether that's by giving away discs or helping with form or whatever.

5) Play at least one tournament (my first).

I was just looking over this again and realized I should put some numbers to my goals.

1) Increase my comfortable putting range to >20'

2) Increase accuracy on my drives. If hole is 100-200' I don't want to be further that 30' away. 200-300', no more than 30-40'. Etc.

3) Increase distance to <300'

4) Play (done)Pier Park, Milo Mclver, and Whistlers Bend (Seeing as I live in Oregon)

5) Help some other people enjoy the game, whether that's by giving away discs or helping with form or whatever.

6) Play in my first PDGA tournament (Will be on June 27)

Since I play a lot of tournaments in my state, and it's courses I usually only play 2 or 3X a year, my goal is to improve my score over last time. So usually after I play a course, I pull up what I did there last year, and hopefully I improved some. There are a couple of courses that have changed the course from last year so you can't judge that, but overall I do improve each time. Only 1 course that I usually fall short of my goal, and that is because I had one fall where after 4 rounds I had shot a 201, which is an average of a 50 per round, I so wanted a 199, but had a double ob on one hole that killed that chance. Since then I have shot a 204, and I think a 206. Just can't break that one weekend where my play was just really on for that course.
Other than that my goals are to try and get my form down each and every drive, be consistant, and be as accurate as I can in my short game. Having distance is only just a part of the total game, I cant drive 350', but I can drive about 300-320', and still be in the fairway, most holes this will give me a par, and maybe a birdie look depending on the hole. I have a great approach/short game, and I am usually a good putter,so having an overall game, I can usually hang with most of my opponents

I set goals all the time, from daily goals to monthly goals to long term goals. I just accomplished one of my goals for 2009 (my first ace), and am working on my 2 year goal (playing all 60+ courses in the area I just moved to).

arrdee33 is my brother. With that said, my goal is to consistently beat him at disc golf. :p;) He always gives me a run for my money:(

My current goals are to shoot another 14 down at my local 18 hole course...and average a 7-10 on practice rounds...and learn consistency!!!! Late July will be my one year marker...and I think in my position now I am very happy with my results...I can drive 400-450+ when I need to get on it, I can putt anything 40ft in when im on my game (when im not thats a different story)....
