Remember: dealing with super noob here. :p :)

Well, the preamp tube I'm suspicious of is a Groove Tube GT12AX7M (ECC83/7025)...basically a newer version of the 12AX7A (as I'm sure you're aware of). I'm suspicious of it because when I fire the amp up, all the tubes glow a nice soft orange at both the base (by the pins) and at the bottom (near the tip) except for this one. It glows soft orange just at the pins, the rest is dark.

Another question...the amp calls for a 2 1/2 amp 125 volt fuse. Will a 2 1/2 amp 250 volt fuse work just as well or must it be 125 volt?
Ideally I'm looking to troubleshoot as much as possible without opening the amplifier chassis. That's in over my head and I'd just end up electrifying myself. :\

I think I might have a bad preamp tube that's causing my fuse to blow...that's my initial hunch based on some stuff I've been reading up on. Basically the amp works fine for 2-10 minutes and then blows the fuse after crackling, cutting in and out, and then getting very soft in volume.

    Thanks for the recommendation!
    Yo Bill!

I was wondering if you know of a good tube amp forum. Remember me asking about that '77 Pro Reverb that I've been having problems with? I finally got it out of storage and am looking to fix it up (if possible). Didn't know if you had a site you could recommend or not.

    TIA! :)

    Bill,
I've got several discs left over from this weekend's SC Doubles. Let me know which two you want and I will send them early next week.

I have R-Pro XDs, San Marino ROCs, Champ Glo Leopards, Cryztal Buzzzes (only in Yellow), ESP Nukes and Pro D Magnets.

All the Champ TLS are gone.

Hey Bill, I was trying to rebuild the perfect putt 360 that Jungle Tim had built. I saw that you had received the spreadsheet from him on a post you made. I was hoping you could send me the excel file that he had created a while ago. Thanks :)
I am really like this Aviar. I usually putt with a Rhyno but have been doing well the past few rounds with the Aviar on longer putts, jump putting and what not. Just wanted to say thanks again.
Hey Bill...thanks for joining the club!!! I was wondering if you could post that vid of Courtney driving where the WRaith went like 400 ft or so? Did you have a bunch of still images or just the vid? That would be cool. I made a thread for Vid's and Increasing Power. I hope we get some more girls to join!
