Any legit par 72 disc golf courses?

I think the Tampere Disc Golf Center (Finland) did some terra forming. I think some of the elevation and ponds were man-made specifically for the course. That place looks badass: https://www.discgolfpark.com/course/tampere-disc-golf-center/ I'll definitely need to check it out next time I'm in...

Any legit par 72 disc golf courses?

In the Charlotte, NC area we have Renny Gold (par 70), Hornets Nest (par 70 - long layout) & Nevin (par 69 - long layout). Although, Hornets Nest and Nevin both usually get altered layouts for tourneys so they often fall short of their max potential pars. A couple of other courses around town...

    Biggest DG Club?

Heh. No worries. I got a chuckle out of it. I'm not sure there were ANY disc golf courses in Finland back when I moved here... Met you at last year's USDGC... I'm sure you met about 5000 people that week :) Thanks for everything you do for the DG scene. Let's get the thread back on...

    Biggest DG Club?

Ha! Small world. Fran really tore Cedar Hills up. Glad you stuck with DG even if your first experience was a little apocalyptic. Hit me up if you're ever in NC. Would love to get a round or two in & catch up.

    Biggest DG Club?

Jyväskylä! That's where I'm from  I'm a Finn living in Charlotte, NC. When I moved to the States 3+ decades ago, I didn't even know disc golf existed... I discovered it in Charlotte shortly after I moved and have been hooked since day 1. I have seen the growth of DG here and in Finland...

    Biggest DG Club?

Isn't there a Friday Am Dubs (seasonal) on Friday mornings? Just saw the gap in your list and felt like CLT can't NOT have something everyday... ;) I am excited for the new leagues. Now I just need to find an employer that is willing to let me out early everyday to go play. Also agree with you...

In Memory: The Best Extinct Courses

Yes, utility construction. Course will be back with appropriate re-designs in about 1.5 to 2 years if everything goes to plan. We're all hoping to keep some of the signature holes... waiting to see the extent of the construction and how it affects the course. Baskets have been pulled and it is...

    AM only A-Tiers

I hear you about not having this issue in Charlotte. Sometimes it's difficult even getting into a tournament if you don't sign up within the first 30 minutes...

RL Smith - Played Yesterday 01.06.2019

Hmmm. I've been avoiding RL Smith for the same reasons as you had. Sounds like it's time to visit RLS again before they start the sewer renovation project. Always a fun course to play. Thanks for the conditions update. I hope we get Eastway back sooner than later...

    jjtwinnova - Charlotte Trip 2018

Yeah, skip RL Smith... it's not being maintained currently. It will be reworked eventually - may be a couple of years or more... Try the 2018 Am Worlds layout at Hornet's & Nevin. Gives you a nice mixture of longs/shorts. Worlds layout marked on each tee pad with blue paint - there's a worlds...

Whats the coolest thing you have seen on a course?

Reedy Creek in Charlotte, right? That definitely made the news locally...

    leaf blower

What 1978 said... In Charlotte, some courses (especially the older ones) suffer from pretty bad erosion and the club/city has spent significant resources to repair and keep them from getting worse. We've also lost a number of trees recently due to storms & erosion... I'm all for leaving the leaf...

PDGA ratings are up. How'd you do?

No change - stayed at 942. Amazing how just one bad round can stifle the slow climb up in ratings...

Critters on the course you ran into...

I've spent my fair share of time in that bamboo forest @ Renny... not fun. Glad I never ran into any copperheads there. I've seen copperheads at nearly all the other area courses. Doesn't surprise me they're @ Renny, too... Glad your four-legged friend is OK.
