Round notes:Played with Mike, a train conductor who runs between Lincoln and Creston. Not quite as accomplished as its neighbor to the north in Atlantic. Still quite a bit of elevation and some intense routes to the basket with where you're more likely to wind up in a cedar tree than on the fairway. I liked it.

Round notes:Played with a couple of locals. This is a top-notch course. Offers just about everything you could want in a park course. Considering this is in the middle of nowhere, it's particularly notable.

Round notes:Course is a little too long and a little too wide open for my taste. If not some some wizardry from mid-range I'd have shot in the low 70s. Course works best on the three or four holes where there are trees around to shape your route to the basket. Otherwise it's just a distance contest under the sun that's quite susceptible to the Kansas wind.

Round notes:Poorly laid out course. Couldn't access the map because of poor cell service, so we missed out on hole 11 and 12 and took nearly three hours to play the other 16 holes due to constant backtracking. There were a few decent holes on the front nine but for every good hole a poor pin placement somewhere else on the course cancelled out the good vibe.

Round notes:Put a disc in a freaking cedar tree on hole 1. If not for the baseball in my bag, I'd still be staring at it and cursing. Came about 3 inches from my third ace on hole 6. Clanged off the side of the cage. Had witnesses, too. Oh well, maybe next time.

Round notes:Played with a local guy, didn't catch his name. Most of the tees seemed to be in the short position, which was fine with me.

Round notes:Played with two local guys. Nice intermediate course. Mostly open, hills come into play on the back nine. Oh, and I hit basket on hole #6. Would have been nice to get my third ace with two witnesses. Oh well.
