You are never really playing an opponent. You are playing yourself, your own highest standards, and when you reach your limits, that is real joy.

    Other info

    ~DG Philosophy ~

    * First and foremost, disc golf is meant to be fun. Although I am competitive by nature, to me it is about getting out into nature and enjoying the great outdoors!
    * I started playing this wonderful sport in May of 2000 at the famous De La Veaga in Santa Cruz, CA. Since then, I have accumulated over 250 courses in 13 states, 3 countries and counting...
    * My favorite type of courses are those that grow with age. Being able to shoot "lights out" every time on the course, to me, lacks creativity and challenge and therefore loses its luster quickly. Courses that continue to challenge me, revealing new routes and approaches over time, make me want to come back and play time and time again.
    * Considering I like to travel, navigation plays a factor in my ratings. If I am spending as much time looking for the next hole as playing it, then there is a major flaw with the course design/layout. I don't expect a course to hold me by the hand, but do expect the course to flow in proper harmony whether it be by the use of signs, next tee markers, tape on the basket, etc.

    ~ DGCR Criteria ~

    * Course Design: Balance (lefty vs. righty) with preferably multiple routes to the basket, nice flow, easy navigation, mix in hole length and par, utilization of geography, open vs. wooded holes, signature hole(s).
    * Aesthetic Beauty: Cleanliness and course maintenance, mountains, water (rivers, lakes, ponds, ocean), foliage, wildlife.
    * Challenge: Appropriate for tended audience (ie. red, blue, gold level player). Rewarding skill over luck.
    * Amenities: Pro shop, bathrooms, water fountains, camping, snack shacks, benches, multi-use park.
    * Bonuses: Multiple tee pads and/or baskets, quality tee signs and tee pads, multiple courses on site, kiosk w/ information regarding course layout, club events and local vendors.

    You sir, are the man.

Well thanks for the advice! i got in on an ace pot tourney at Seatac this Sunday. it was a great course. The back 9 ate me alive. i shot like +14. i also played Mountlake Terrace, Silverlake, and Twin Rivers. I wasnt impressed with Twin Rivers in Arlington but Silverlake was fun and i think Mountlake Terrace will be my new "home course" because its an easy drive and the club seems pretty active there. when i get time i will make the drive to the other courses. Thanks again!
Just moved to Everett, WA from Florida. I was thinking about heading down to play Seatac tomorrow or next weekend. Any advice on what courses are a must and which ones to avoid?
J.R.! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family too. Just as Don said below I would like to try and play a couple rounds this weekend. I haven't been able to play much lately due to 12-14 hour work days the past month, so I'm eager to throw again. Next weekend should work too, so maybe I'll see you then since this weekend might not be good for you.
    Hey Now John ~
Cinque said he would shoot me a message this week about maybe getting together this weekend to play and swap tags ~ would you be able to make it? The weather and our own availabilties will the be big question. Let us know. Either way have a Great Thanksgiving!!
    Long Days and Pleasant Nights,
    Don
sure thing. hit me up when you come visit next. there is now the actual basket course over at Bellows. we also do a monthly tourney at different locations on the island at the end of each month...
My wife and I played Northwest Univ. today. Fun little course. I have to keep going back, because I think it's possible to card my first eagle on hole 8. :)
Thanks for your message! I'm studying abroad in Ulm until August, it's been incredible. In Bavaria there's a few courses, I think the most notable ones are the one in Weilheim and of course, the course in the Allgäu which made the front page of the 2012 Innova calendar.

I'd really recommend a trip here, not only for disc golf, but also to experience the culture and take a break. If you have any questions, let me know! :)
thanks John ~ alwlays good to see you ~ That +5 on the blues was tuff ~ I started that round with 3 double bogey's on the first 4 holes :gross: All my practice rounds the week before were much better than what I posted on Sat. ~ but I ain't giving up gol-dang-it. I have my eye on the prize (one of those fancy first place wooden discs at AquaFest this year)
    Catch you later,
    Don
Second place! Nice work, J.R. How was the day? I wish I could have been there.
Yeah, it's pretty interesting. Tip is a strange character, strong personality. I still have no idea what Jarobi's job/role/ is supposed to be. I guess he's just a mutual friend that kept everybody on track.
