    I love talking about the courses I've played, if you have questions, comments or disagreements with my reviews I want to hear them.

    Here are some of the criteria I focus on when reviewing and rating a course:

    Design: Good balance of long/short and left/right/straight holes, good use of property features, risk/reward opportunities, challenge, multi-shot holes that reward excellent drives with fair landing zones, appropriate challenges for the intended skill level

    Beauty: Seclusion, nice views, well maintained property, elevation changes, mix of different levels of foliage

    Amenities: Level and smooth tees, tee signs, baskets in decent shape, navigation aids where necessary (course map, next tee signs etc.)

    Bonuses: Multiple tees, multiple pins/pin placements, fun water shots, loops back to parking lot, active club/tournament scene

    I wke up to se one of your reiews up there and a big diamond shining next to it. Nice work, you beat me to it, which means you are more of an addict than me because you started after me. Awesome job it was fun trying to catch up to the Valkyrie Kid, now I just need to make sure I am no worse than the third diamond reviewer. Maybe when I get it the three of us should meet up and play a round together on a course noone has played.

    Thanks man, you are a force however and I thought my stats might be creeping up toward The alkyrie Kids but he went on a rampage himself the last month or so. He says he has just about played everything near to him though so it will only be on extended trips. I still have a lot of Northern IL to play and Northern WI and I make trips to Minneapolis once or twice a year too. Plus I have that whole winter trip to plan out this year. I might not be going to Florida instead perhaps between here and TX. Not sure yet, but it probably won't be as many courses as it was for me last winter. Depends if I go on a one week trip by myself or if my wife is with me because that limits me to 2 courses a day usually.

    Just thought I would let you know I delayed my trip. I am possibly going to do it in 2 weeks on the 28th and 29th, but it was going to be too hot and muggy and buggy to play 10 hours 3 days straight. If things dont work well in 2 weeks it will have to wait until October sometime.

    I still cannot believe you havent gotten diamond status. I played two new ones this weekend but was sick (I had planned on 4-5 new ones just to try and get to diamond quicker). If you don't get it in th enext 4 weeks I think I might because my goal is to hit 15-20 courses one of these weekends, and I need to get it done before Labor Day (which is my anniversary, and my fall season kicks in and gets real busy, so I better do it in mid August!!!!

    Thanks man, it's been a great 3 months or so since I joined, I've enjoyed every minute of it. I'll miss it over the next 30 days - I'm sure I'll go through some pretty severe withdrawal symptoms, but I'm sure I'll survive.

    I see what you are trying to do, and I bet you are the next Diamond TR because of your # of reviews and 21 states. I might get to a couple new courses in the next few weeks, but I think I am still a bit short on unique voters! Good luck!

    I agree with jhgonzo, let us know when you come this way. I am hoping to head south into IL again in July/August when the normal drought slowdown ocurrs. I'll let you know when it happens and we could meet up down there.

    Any plans on making it up to North Central or Northeast WI to review some courses this season? I noticed on your played list that you've only hit up a few southern WI courses...there's a lot of fun to be had the further north you go! Hit me up if you're ever around Manitowoc/CLEVELAND/Sheboygan (that's about a 30-mile span of the lakefront, with emphasis added for the midway point where I am located). I hope to hit up some more IL courses, just not sure if this year will be the year...
