    Learning forehand after 30

I'm 53 and I transitioned several years ago to playing mostly FH due to chronic shoulder pain from years of playing baseball in high school and college. I struggled mostly because I didn't put in the field work on FH form (I have since). I also struggled because I wanted to stick with Excaliburs...

mentally difficult to throw fast discs

Yes, most definitely. I now play with G* Thunderbirds (9) and Star Teebirds (7) as my drivers. Easy, smooth, relaxed. 450' drives? Not likely. 300'-350' on the line I expected? Yep and I'll take those all day long.

Review by mgcoleman in course Shaver Park

4.00 star(s) Great fun A shot-maker's course, not just bombing and putting. Well-wooded (in a good way). Good elevation changes, fun ravine shots. Most holes have several options for playing it. Local club is doing a good job with upkeep - tough location for bringing in materials, so improvements take time...

    [Discraft] Crank SS

I think the Discraft description of the Crank SS provides some insight: "Just because you don't have a lot of power, doesn't mean you don't deserve more distance! Crank SS was designed to deliver significantly more distance for low-power throwers."

Review by mgcoleman in course Waterloo Exchange Park

4.00 star(s) Best course in Waterloo area - Excellent signage - Concrete pads, all in good condition - 27 total holes - First 9 are pretty good, several where water is a factor, multiple lines available on most. - Middle 9 are easily the highlight of course, several demand one particular shape (good to have...

Review by mgcoleman in course Valley View Park

1.50 star(s) Dated 9-holer - Concrete tee pads - Baskets in serviceable condition (old, but serviceable) - Good place for beginners to get introduced to game without risk of losing discs - Short layout, little technical challenge - Significant drainage issues make course unplayable even after the lightest of...

Most unique holes played in one day

Some of these numbers in this thread are just amazing! My son and I did a 90 hole day a couple summers ago (5 different courses in and around Des Moines, IA). My shoulder told me the next day we possibly played one course too many, but I will gladly trade a sore shoulder any day for a fun day...

    [Innova] Replacing dx Thunderbird

I recently added a Gstar Thunderbird to my bag as a replacement for a DX which met a rather untimely and quite watery demise. The Gstar Thunderbird is my go-to now. Love the feel, incredible glide, handles the wind really well. I will admit I still have one DX Thunderbird in the bag for BH...

    Front Foot for Push Putting?

I'm a RH player who has been putting left foot forward for a couple years now (after many more years with right foot forward). It works better for me because of a couple things: 1) I practice it. A lot. As in almost every day, somewhere around 50+ putts from 15' and back. I've always been one to...
