I'm 53 and I transitioned several years ago to playing mostly FH due to chronic shoulder pain from years of playing baseball in high school and college. I struggled mostly because I didn't put in the field work on FH form (I have since). I also struggled because I wanted to stick with Excaliburs...
Yes, most definitely. I now play with G* Thunderbirds (9) and Star Teebirds (7) as my drivers. Easy, smooth, relaxed. 450' drives? Not likely. 300'-350' on the line I expected? Yep and I'll take those all day long.

Great fun
A shot-maker's course, not just bombing and putting. Well-wooded (in a good way). Good elevation changes, fun ravine shots. Most holes have several options for playing it.
Local club is doing a good job with upkeep - tough location for bringing in materials, so improvements take time...
I think the Discraft description of the Crank SS provides some insight:
"Just because you don't have a lot of power, doesn't mean you don't deserve more distance! Crank SS was designed to deliver significantly more distance for low-power throwers."

Some of these numbers in this thread are just amazing! My son and I did a 90 hole day a couple summers ago (5 different courses in and around Des Moines, IA). My shoulder told me the next day we possibly played one course too many, but I will gladly trade a sore shoulder any day for a fun day...
I recently added a Gstar Thunderbird to my bag as a replacement for a DX which met a rather untimely and quite watery demise. The Gstar Thunderbird is my go-to now. Love the feel, incredible glide, handles the wind really well.
I will admit I still have one DX Thunderbird in the bag for BH...
I'm a RH player who has been putting left foot forward for a couple years now (after many more years with right foot forward).
It works better for me because of a couple things:
1) I practice it. A lot. As in almost every day, somewhere around 50+ putts from 15' and back. I've always been one to...
