Review by Bill at Flip in course Shawshank

5.00 star(s) so thats what jail is like..... First time in Texas. Had to get to this one. Great theme based course. Tee pads were big and grippy. Interesting construction. Nice signs, with a name for every hole. Good use of elevation. Challenging lines throughout this gem. The water holes, and the fountain...

    Winter Golf

Adding a ribbon will stable up your disc. Like a kite tail.... One guy at my winter league was selling Swiss army gators. $15 a pair, and wool lined. With those one some guys were playing in tennis shoes.

    Winter Golf

We use present ribbon. 2' long. Stay away from dollar store ribbon and tape. Make sure the disc is warm when putting on tape. I used this setup a couple years now. The swivel keep the ribbon from fluttering, and pulling the ribbon under.

    Using ribbons in the snow?

Warm the disc, use better duck tape. We play all winter in lake effect snow, with very few problems.

    DG in the Winter?

Here in northern west Michigan we get alot of lake-effect powder. Tape a ribbon to the bottom of your disc, you`ll spend less time looking for them. Wrapping ribbon 14"-24" duck taped to the bottom, depending on the snow depth. We played Winter League Dec. to April (Sat. 1:00p teeoff) in snow...

    Julio review of Highbridge?

I have to say this thread has me laughing so hard. No I did not hire Tom Julio at Flip. There is no flippie movement. I could care less about the #1 rating, I`m too busy taking care of the 30 acres here. If you look back to early reviews of Flip you will see the need for tee pads. Some league...

Okay - How big is a good tee box?

About 32", thats past the 10'. So your looking at about 13 and a half feet long. I posted a sign at the first tee about the foul lines. At the 2 state tournys here last summer, the TD let people step on the line, but not go past it throwing. The line ended being about 1" wide all the way...

Okay - How big is a good tee box?

At Flip City I went 10' long, with 5' tapering to 4'. I added a half round to the end for running off. I use concrete dye for the foul line. I carved out cement at the foul line then filled it in with colored cement. A local course here don`t have run off cement at the end of the tees. In less...
