So, what happens if the wildfire smoke remains a persistent problem through the weekend? Does the PDGA expect people to be able to take another week off work, and pay for lodging again whenever or wherever they decide to re-run the event, or do they cancel the event entirely? Many players didn't even get a full round in yesterday, and they keep postponing it further with optimistic wording, but the smoke forecast at firesmoke.ca is showing that it won't be letting up any time soon...

Under no circumstances should players be expected, or asked, to return on a day following the last day of the regular scheduled rounds to finish the event.

My guess is truncation if they can get any complete rounds in and cancellation if they can't. Sucks for all involved.

For the event to be considered official, determining World Champions, at least two rounds must be completed per Comp Manual 1.07 I.2. So hopefully, they'll be able to get there for most divisions. The tricky scheduling could be making sure all MA1 pools have played at least two of the same courses if these AQI conditions continue to delay play.

True .

And some of the junior divisions played two rounds on Day 1, so they are already official even if no more rounds are to be played.

Plus the mid-event suspension rules now allow a single round to be considered complete if all competitors have done 9 common holes, not the 13 as formerly required. It will still require 13 holes, though, to be rated.
