My summer disc golf cart is this rolling cooler. I want to detachably attach a power pocket to it. The power pocket is designed to mount on the single pole handle of a zuca cart. It has a Velcro loop at the top that mounts to the horizontal handle, and two more Velcro loops down the back in the center that attach to the vertical pole. Please help me figure out some quick and easy ways to attach it to the double pole handle on this rolling cooler.

Here is an image of the two loops that attach to the vertical pole. I also want a cup holder attachment.

Are you wanting to mount the power pocket on the existing handle? Do you have a rivet gun? Few scraps of Velcro, rivet them where the double rails and handle are (instead of centered in the pipe-style handle). Poking zip ties through is just as valid.

You might want a different diy handle?

Rivet gun can attach drink holders and anything else to the cooler.

This is what I thought of. Some velcro straps (or something like 3/8" nylon rope) and piece of PVC pipe.

To elaborate, whatever attaches to the existing handle has to be detachable if I'm going to retract the handle so the cooler will fit in my car.

I'm not an artist, so I hope I can explain my idea well enough.

Need two adjustable pipe clamps (see link below).
Screw pipe clamps to back of cooler
Insert PVC pipe and tighten it down.
Attach bag to one side of pipe
Attach water bottle holder to the other side.

You can use whatever size of pipe you need, just adjust the clamps as needed.

Maybe this doesn't meet the "detachability" part (if you want to quickly detach some kind of mounting system and not bother with velcro), but I don't understand the need to create a single-pole solution when it looks like the power pocket already has what you need. It has the top strap to hold the power pocket up at the right height. Put that loop over your top horizontal bar.

It has 4 holes in it, 1 in each corner. Get some/cut some skinny velcro straps, run them through those 4 holes, and run them around your cart poles which keeps the pocket from moving too much side-to-side.

Ignore the current mounting strap running down the middle of the power pocket.

Dmoore's suggestion makes sense to me.

The only thing I can see that might be an issue, is that the grommets on the Power Pocket appear to be about 8"-9" apart. The vertical part of the handle you want to attach it to look to be about 6" apart or so.

Still, I'd think you could find some sort of decent velcro strips to do the job.

Might even be able to use some small, skinny bungee cords like these, to secure it in place, and just undo it when you want to put it away.

Just put a cooler in this.

If you want quick and easy I would head down to the local hardware store and pick-up a piece of rubber insulation (armaflex is one brand) wrap it around either one of the arm on the handle, wrap the pocket around the insulation and be done with it.

I wouldn't recommend fiberglass piping insulation for outdoors and fiberglass can get everywhere including your eyes. Fiber insulation typically has an outer white color jacket with yellow insulation. Rubber is typically black like this.

Quick and easy. Only tool that may be required is either scissors or sharp blade to cut the insulation to the proper length. It's not going to be pretty, but as long as you don't seal the splice it should be easy to remove.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Updated photos attached. I was concerned that using the top strap on the retractable handle would actuate the retraction button centered in the top of the handle but it doesn't seem to do that.

I need suggestions for a cup holder attachment that can connect to the remaining real estate, plus a way to securely carry my smartphone. And I don't understand the suggestion to attach poles to the cooler. Am I supposed to drill holes in the cooler and use bolts? Seems like it would compromise the insulation.

Maybe some sort of bicycle drink holder would work. I had an old bottle and pouch that used Velcro to secure it to the bike frame. It works well on my disc golf cart. It's a small one so it only holds up to about a 20 oz bottle. It has a flap that holds the bottle in place, too, so the bottle won't fall out. I can take a pic if needed.

If you drilled holes in the cooler, you'd just have to use sealer once the bolts are added. You probably could use something like Gorilla Glue to hold the clamps on....not sure how secure that would be though....you'd have to try it out.

For carrying my phone and one or two other small items, I'm thinking maybe I'll try a small drawstring trash bag and just loop the bag through the drawstring around the handle on the side opposite the towel. Or maybe through the eyehole in the top corner of the power pocket.

If it's phones, wallets, or keys I'm looking to secure it. I'd stash that inside the cooler somehow.
