Best local attraction in an area you visited other than disc golf

Each time I travel for work, I try to find if there is an interesting local attraction in the area I am visiting to check out in addition to playing a good disc golf course. I am supposed to be in Milwaukee in April and have already decided to play Brown Deer (if open) and go to the Mitchell Park Conservatory and North Point Lighthouse. By far the best place I have visited for work was NYC and got to play Leonard Park in Mt Kisco several times which was a $25 train ride from Grand Central and 10 minute walk from the train station. During the time I was there I went to Central Park just about every weekend I was in town and the NY Botanical Garden in the Bronx was probably the best place I visited.

North GA Canopy Tours in Lula, GA has an awesome DG course and zip lines.

If you play Chattooga Belle Farm there are Zip Lines, Fly Fishing and Whitewater rafting. All could be done in a day.

Horseshoe Canyon Ranch has awesome Rock Climbing, which is what brought me there in the first place, I wouldn't be DGing if it wasn't for that. There's also dude ranch and lodge facilities, as well as a 1600' zipline off the top of the canyon that boasts 60mph. Looked awesome, but I'm too cheap to shell out $$.
My course will have a canopy tour directly above several holes, I also have a ropes course, pamper pole, climbing wall, a world renowned fishing lake, sailboats, canoes and such.

If you are in the DC area, play Seneca Creek State Park in Gaithersburg and then hop the Metro to DC. museums, art galleries, monuments, cherry blossoms - take your pick. Just don't drive . . .

Not only are the museums and monuments pretty awesome, most of them are free. (Sort of, you essentially pay for them with your taxes.)

im planning on this course just for that feature just to keep the gf happy

I'm going to see Moto GP in Austin in April. It will be a part dg, part motorcycle racing. Does that count?

That sounds like a great place to visit. I actually felt like I was at dude ranch last weekend in Columbia, SC called the Public House. The food was fantastic though.

Well, when I visited DisneyWorld we took two mornings to play Turkey Lake. As a local attraction, it's hard to top Disney (unless it's not your cup of tea).

When I play tournaments in Charleston I always try to spend an extra day there, just to poke around the historic district. That's probably the top local attraction, where the primary reason for going was the disc golf.

One day I hope to stay at Fontana Village, for both the disc golf (which I've played several times) and the other amenities.

That's right! now there are two in this country! So you could play De La, Black mouse, and Pinto Lake. Then hit up the Moto GP at Laguna Seca near Carmel.

Great idea!

That place is ****ing amazing, I wish I wasn't there when it was 100

Lake Sonoma has an awesome salmon fish hatchery across the street. There's a great place to watch the fish climb the fish ladder and then chill out in a shallow stream before heading into the hatchery.

Golden Gate Park has an amazing variety of things to see. From bison in a paddock to world class art museums to an incredible botanical garden

Traverse city has some of the best courses in Michigan. There is salmon fishing, wineries, breweries, casinos and endless other things to do all within a small area.
