I asked a friend to record a throw which can be found here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4m8Tz3SWBQo

I realize now he should have been on the other side of me. But until I get another video, I feel a bit overwhelmed. I'm not exactly sure where to start working on my form and I assume that as I fix things it puts me in the position that other things sort of fix them selves. Where do I start?

1. I would work from standstill. The x-step is not helping you with the fundamentals and just adding more moving parts and speed.

2. Close your stance, rear toes inline to front heel.

3. Push off rear toes/instep, driving heel up/forward.

4. I like your forward pump and arm swing motion, but your body isn't helping it much by leaning back and forth and going over your front leg. Need to brace up and keep yourself more centered inside feet/posture so you can shift and rotate more efficiently back and forth.

The first throw was one of my better throws for the day. I've moved away from the x-step and am throwing form a stand still as suggested. It's taken a bit of time to dial in the new aim point. The second two throws were okay, but if nothing else I feel like I've lost little distance and gained more accuracy.

What am I doing wrong? What should I focus on next?

"Standstill", doesn't mean don't move. You are doing everything very static instead of dynamic. You setup in a wide stance and don't really shift back or forth or swing the arm/disc. Swing the arm/disc forward and then go into a backswing and throw all in one fluid motion.
