[Discraft] Crafting Low Scores - Everything Discraft!

Large diameter (180g max weight) mid range though which is kind of unique for what the 5/3/0/4 numbers the Swarm has been given. Usually the bigger the diameter the harder to get FH spin cleanly when releasing the disc compared to smaller diameter molds which is why we usually see Justice/Gator types as smaller diameter and approved for max weight under 180. Most max out between 175 and 178. Quake maxes at 179.

It looks like a Justice to me.

Probably a bit straighter than a Justice, mostly in the HSS department, but I don't remember the last time I've thrown a Justice. It's definitely more comfortable than a Justice or a Gator for forehands, very similar in the hand to a Quake or Buzzz OS. I'd bet it's similar to a FR Buzzz OS in terms of flight but again it's been a while since I've thrown one. I'm going to see if the same person who's Swarm I threw has a Z Buzzz OS to compare them, and I'm currently trying to obtain a Swarm via FB.

So I've been bagging a JB Z FLX TS Swarm since they released and it's more OS than the TFs for sure. I haven't gotten a chance to snag a FR ESP (they need to run it in Z and JB, and yesterday) yet, but I'd assume it's less OS than the TS ones. My TS one is significantly more OS than my Quake, but not necessarily in a bad way.

Also has anyone seen anything on Missy Gannon's Captain's Thrasher??? Supposedly 12, 5, 0, 2 hopefully I'll be able to throw one soon, as I suspect this may pair nicely with my Force and Drive.

I've been trying to add some more discraft to the bag. I have a zlite cicada and that thing is mega flippy. Today marshall street had a sale on discraft xouts, so I picked up a z and a bigz cicada. Both are in the lower 160's. Does anyone have any experience with lightweight cicadas?

I also picked up a zlite thrasher and scorch. What should I expect from them?

My max distance is around 340 on a normal day.

In my experience, the Z Lite Scorch is on the flippy side of Scorches, but not hugely more so than a light weight ESP Scorch.

The Cicada is a pretty flippy disc, overall. I had a max weight ESP one that flipped so hard it threw turnovers shorter than my midranges. Can't imagine what a Z Lite one would fly like. Definite beginner disc in that plastic, from what I've seen...

I figured you'd have my back Skamanda. I was hoping the cicadas would be slightly understable, maybe one if them will be a little beefier than normal. That's the great thing about x outs, they're cheap and ive always had a thing for double stamps. I've heard that the z swirl cicadas are more overstable. I was just trying to find a stock run that flies like I want.
The scorch and trasher I just bought on a whim. Distance drivers aren't a big part of my game.

Z Swirl is probably my favorite modern Discraft plastic. It seems to have extra glide.

The Jawbreaker Z FLX might also be a bit more overstable than the other runs, if it's anything like my Comets in that plastic are.

The results are in. All the discs I'll be talking about are in the upper 150s to low 160s. The bigZ cicada flew pretty close to the numbers. It was just what I was looking for. It's a nice compliment to my primary driver the vela. It naturally gets a little turn and powers down well. Pretty similar to a Q Polaris, with just a little more distance. The Z and the Zlite flew identically, probably 7 6 -3 1. Originally I thought the Zlite was mega understable. Once I dialed it and the Z in they flew beautiful turnover lines. Just give it a little hyzer and about 80% power and boom you have a rhbh forehand.

I haven't thrown the thrasher and scorch much, but they were both more stable than I expected. A little turn and moderate fade out to 350, with the scorch being a little more understable.
