Hey guys. I'm a regular here, I read the new posts everyday, multiple time a day... I might be addicted. However, I also try to make it to the dangerous outside world once in a while to actually throw some plastic, and boy do I enjoy doing so.

I'm 25

I have been playing for two years, but really only 14-16 months of actual playing (winter is brutal here and with University, I did not take the time to practice on the snow). I learned from local player (very few!!) and watching pro on youtube and such.

BHLH and occasionally use the sidearm, I would really like to improve the side arm eventually.

Distance : Hard to tell. I only play two courses (that's all we've got here) and the distance is marked on one of them, but I really don't trust them.

Me feeling is :
Putter : Wizard - 250
Mids : Buzzz and Roc - 275
Control driver : Leopard, Teebird 340
Distance driver : Sidewinder, PD, Katana, Boss, ... 380
I know I have pushed drive past 400 before, but I'm not sure I can do this regularly... (I should really use a range finder and check it out.)

These are rough guests really... it's possible I'm actually overestimating myself of even underestimating myself, you guys be the judges on that.

In this Video, I throw a putter, a few mids and several drivers (fairway and distance)

Things to consider while watching :
Time
1:00 (shank drive)
I throw my s PD during the warm up throws and I pretty much shank it, looking at the throw, I'm not sure what went wrong.

4:39 (shank drive)
I throw my s PD for the second time, same result more or less. Surprisingly, my s PD is usually my most constant driver

2:54 (sidearm)
I throw my Firebird sidearm on what turns out to be always a spike hyzer...!

What I thought after watching the vids (first time I actually see myself throw)
I don't pull on a straight line. I think I reach back OK but then, I pull low, getting my disc of line and then throw upward sort of...

I also noticed that I don't throw very well without a specific target. I will do a follow up video in which I will try to aim at something precise and hopefully mimic the situation on a course.

Now, the special of the day, My bag critique! I figure that since you see my form, you might as well give me your suggestion on my bag. I do have several disc that I rotate in and out, but I'll give you the 10 discs I usually don't play a tourney without.

Putter : SS and SSS Magic (175g)
Driving putter : Medium Wizard (175g) for approach and drive
Mids :
Star San Marino Roc (177g) (stable mid, always finish right (LhBh).
ESP Buzzz, very beat up, it's pretty understable now. Hyzer flip duty, nice long hyzer and turnovers
Fairway drivers :
Star Leopard (175g) straight, hyzer flip and turnovers
Champion CFR Leopard (171g) straight and gentle hyzer drive
Champion CFR Firebird (167g) hyzer, forearm approach with skip, spike... utility disc but I do use if on driving sometimes
Z Avenger SS Very beat up, I cannot really throw this one at full power without turning it into a roller. Roller disc, very severe anhyzer and 70% power hyzer flip.

Drivers :
DX Teebird (x2) (one beat up, one that I keep fresh)
s PD (beat up) (17?g)S drive, nice long hyzer, straight sidearm
Champion Sidewinder (17?g) big s curve, downhill and tailwind specialist
Champion Boss (17?g) in the wind, big hyzer, flex shots

I do have a Champion Gator for windy day and overstable duty, but I never actually used it in a tournament or even on more than one round.

Well, that's it... for now. I should receive today an order from Gateway with new Wizard (G9i and Evo) and different mids I want to try (Element, Warrrior) and other disc I don't remember.

Thank you very much for taking the time to watch the video and critique my form. Don't try to be kind or anything, I know I'm not a very good disc golf player, but I believe I have the physical ability to become one and that's why I want to work on my form.

I apologize in advance for my slow response time, I will be away for several hours. But I will come back and comment. Thank you.

It looks like you are struggling with accuracy. That DX Teebird shouldn't flip over that bad, so that is a good indication of OAT... Let's figure out where it's coming from.

First thing i notice right away is you're over-reaching on reachback, locking your elbow, and not getting any elbow chop on pull through. You also have a severe downward wrist-roll at hit point where your thumb ends up pointing toward the ground in your follow through. Best thing to do is work from a standstill to correct this. digest and practice the bradley walker closed shoulder drill:

thx for the detailed reply. I will watch the video and practice the drill. It seems to make a lot of sense already.

As for accuracy, I find it hard to rip drives in open field without a target. Next time, I will identify a target to aim at. I'm actually quite precise, if you would believe (I agree that looking at the video, no one could tell!).

Seems like your arm starts high, moves down and then up again by the time of the release like \_/ (but less severe of course). Look like an air bounce type throw.

I'm impressed they let you out of the woods to play dg. I thought you Quebecois only knew hockey and lumberjacking. you put ze puck on center hice and den you score tree goal.

okay all joking aside, you are getting nose up. the rest of your mechanics look fine. you are getting good rotation and weight forward. Jrawk is right about your elbow/arm action. one thing that can help your nose up is messing with your grip. changing how you seat the disc in your palm will change how it comes out of your hand.

also since you have access to football pitches you may want to find either a 30m tape or a 50m tape. and lay out cones/markers at certain distances and then throw. That is the best way to truly know how far you are throwing.

Yeah, that's what I tried to explain originally. I'm not sure if that could cause the nose up issue... How else might it affect my throws...?

yeah that will cause nose up for certain. It also is taking power and speed away from your throw because your arm motion is not efficient and you are having to compensate for the fluctuations.
