So for the past 2 years we have run a tournament series in which the men are flighted into three divisions after the first round scores. This has worked great and we'd like to continue to use this format. However, these tournaments are sometimes held on 9-hole courses and our events are getting large enough we are thinking about using two courses for some of the tournaments and having half the players play one course in the morning while the other half play the other course and then switching for the afternoon round.
Is there a fair way to assign flights for a tournament like this? Do we just pick one course's scores to assign the flights by? What if it's raining at that course in the morning but not in the afternoon? Anyone have any suggestions?
