Hey

I need some help. I Have been playing for 2 years now. And I just cant get my form down. I know I open my back leg too much on my x-step (probably due to rushing) but my main issue is that I just cant seem to get any kind of feel on if my hips are in my throw or not. some times it just clicks and I can get a 115m/380ft throw but that's a random thing and not a constant. And that's what I am after. I don't want to break 400 or anything I want to get 360 370 down and throw that with consistency.

So, any help would be appreciated.

Welcome!

I'd start with the feet, your weight, & how you interact with the ground. Yes, get that rear foot more targetward to get better leverage on the ground. Also, you appear to force the acceleration as you proceed - it's generally better to keep a similar pace through the swing, and if the form is good the late acceleration will occur as a consequence of good posture, sequencing, and balance.

You also want your get your weight leading the swing more significantly & regulating the tempo of the swing. The way your feet/legs interact with the ground and getting your weight to lead in the sequence are essential. Then the game is "trapping" that force and transferring it up the chain. You need to develop more confident "pogo-like" legs and transfer that force.

To work on the feel in the legs, look at Elephant walk drill and Hammer X-step below.

I also collected some drills to work on generating force with weight/from the ground in the third video if those ideas are new to you, but would do seabas22's first.
