I'm headed to Vegas this weekend, will be working there for 5 weeks. First course I ever played was Sunset so I'll definitely be returning there & playing all other courses in Vegas area.

I'm also wondering what courses within a 4-6 hr. drive would be worth a weekend getaway ride, anyone have any solid recommendations?

Last August I walked to Sunset from the New York, New York Casino because the bus never showed up on the route I took. 8 mile walk plus a full round played. Found a new route back to the hotel that had a reliable bus line. Got me a pretty good sun burn that day.

I think it is about 5 hours to Phoenix. You can come play both courses that are used for the Memorial NT Tourney. There are also a few other good courses around. PM me if you come out this way. I would be happy to play a few rounds.

While your in LV go to the Rio and treat yourself to the sweetest buffet i've ever been to. As far as disc don't drive to Tonopah and play.

Roughly 2 hours away is Kingman. A couple of decent courses there, and notably an unsanctioned tourney on Halloween morning that's sure to be a blast. Www.kingmandiscgolf.com I highly recommend making it there if possible. There are also a couple neat new 9 holers in Bullhead City. Roughly 5 hours away is flagstaff which has amazing wooded courses, but they're getting awfully close to snow time. I'll reiterate the Halloween howl in kingman if at all possible.

Which courses are you referring too? I'll check them out.
That would be cool, same if you happen to venture towards Vegas.
Have you played any in Kingman, Bullhead City or Lake Havasu?
They seem within a day trips distance from Vegas.

I live in Havasu, where we have a fairly boring 9 hole currently, and I'm still in the infancy stages of developing an 18 hole in the desert. I'm very familiar with both courses in Kigman, an hour away for me, and they have a decently large very active community of players. Bullhead I am decently familiar with, and both courses are less than 2-3 months old. They both are a lot of fun, and I'd be happy to meet up in any of those cities, schedule permitting.

That sounds cool, what time? I've played a few in Flagstaff, very nice.
I'm only seeing one 9 hole listed for Bullhead city on here, what are the others?

The other one hasn't been added here yet, but tee signs are being finished this week and then I'll add it. It's at a park called riverview off of the Colorado river, with several shots playing right next to the ever itself.

Sounds awesome, I'm sure my brother would be interested also, maybe CoachQ can drive up too. Wow, I though Havasu might be interesting though. Will be in touch. Joe

Havasu has plenty to offer as a city, however is very limited for DG currently. It's not bad, but bullhead and kingman both outdo it currently. I'll certainly be ready to play anytime I'm not working.

Sounds nice, if I get up that way I'll check it out. Sunrise in Wrightwood is looking pretty good too.

And it's probably a couple hours closer to Vegas...
Although the pins might be pulled for the year already.

I checked, closed Nov. - Apr., tomorrow may be the last day, could even be snow up there. Might call & see what's up or just save this one for another time.

I found Riverview on the PDGA site, Google has these & Kingman at around 100 mi. & a 2 hr & change ride. Does that sound about right?
My days off are on the weekend, what about you?

The guys from Cali are dead on about Casitas, you won't regret the trip out there, but be be sure to hit up Oak Grove near Pasadena as well. Great little course and the birth-place of it all.

Also I know you were looking for around 6 hours or so, but Moab, UT is about 7-8 hours away and has two pretty courses in Old City Park and the hard to reach, but worth the journey Base Camp Adventure Lodge. If you have a long weekend the scenery alone is worth making the trip.
