Headed to MVP Open, Leicester MA Thursday from VA

Am looking for places to stay that are not going to be terribly bad or a complete S#%thole. I am not opposed to camping so long as there are showers nearby or onsite. I have been warned by a friend form the area to stay away from Worcester as its a bad area. Anyone headed that way this weekend? Any thoughts on cool places to stay?

I haven't been there but have been planning a trip to 2018 Pro Worlds with a stop for 3 nights in Worcester on the way to Vermont. Plan on playing Maple Hill, 501, Pyramids and Borderland. I have reservations to camp at Wells State Park which has pretty good reviews, new showers, and is only 25 minutes from Maple Hill.
