Hole Length Game

I found 848ft but I can't find an 847ft.

847'

West City Park: Festus, MO
Hole 7 (blue tee to pin position "A")

For some reason, the Hole Info page shows the distance for placement "B" and you have to click the "+" to see the distance for "A."

Basket in "A" placement (so the caption for the pic says):

Looks like the missing list claims another: 736, 754, 758, 766, 769, 781, 791, 806, 809, 828, 829, 833, 838, 841, 845, and now 851... (that's 16 for those keeping count).

But 852's one of my favorites!
Moraine State Park: Portersville, PA
Gold tee = 852 ft...tee sign should say "Empty bag here."
What a view, what a hole, what a course!

^ Hole doglegs to the right just over the tree tops you can see popping up at the end of the fairway off to the right - the drop down to the green >> than the drop from tee to fairway.

Sorry for the double post, couldn't update within 5 min.

I saw two listings for 853', but neither had a great picture. Since hole 6 at Ship Rock in Willow Street, PA only had this tee sign pic

...I thought it might be more fun to go to hole 7 at Whittlesea Golf Course in Whittlesea, Victoria, Australia. It's the right footage, even if this pic doesn't correspond with the hole in question.

OK, I couldn't find an 854 footer, but searched for 260.3 meters, and this Swedish course came up listing a 260 meter par 5 hole 18. It's here on dgcr under the name Jenny DGB. The first link has a map and scorecard, but I couldn't locate any pictures. Close enough to try 855'?

855' Disc Side of Heaven Championship Course #16. Probably the signature hole for course. Wanted to stake claim to it here, but do not have a picture of it just yet. Will try and remedy that this weekend and I will add it here. I will, however, walk you through it.

From the Gold Tee, during the winter, you can actually see the basket 855' away from you. Par 5, no worries, right? You are standing on top of a ridge, the fairway drops hard to the right, and to the left, but not so much. The 500' marker is straight in front of you, also on top of the ridge, but quickly after that the fairway disappears.

You throw a perfect drive 375-400 feet dead center. You land about 40' past the 500' marker so you are sitting just 460' away from the basket. You can see the basket, but now you can also see that the basket is just 40' or so past the waterline. So now you need a 420' shot just to clear the water, trees line the pond the entire right side so you either have to throw a HUGE hyzer, a dead straight shot, or a big flick. Do you go for the shot so you are putting for Eagle, or do you lay up. Did I mention you cannot see the near waterline due to the hill. So you are throwing a blind lay up. If you do lay up, you still have a 220' water carry to get to the basket that is still protected on the right by the trees.

So, what do you do?

I probably throw a mediocre drive of about 285' (when I was hoping for 340'), then glide down the slope with a monster 300' fairway driver shot  and pray the third drive clears the water. :p

...can't wait to see the pics. sounds like a cool challenge!

855?

^ So the above is a pic of the 855 ft hole?

856'

This looks like the most appealing of the 856 footers I found:

Blue Valley Park in Kansas City, MO
Hole 18, Blue tee to Pin "B" = 856 ft
I have no clue if the pictured tee is the Blue tee, or which position the basket is shown in, but the sign reads 856 from the blue... interesting tee pads

I think we might be adding 857 to the missing list. :\

I couldn't find anything for 859... anybody?
..could be the 18th hole on our fictitious course:\

I found stuff for the next few holes after 859, but wanna give other folks a chance to play ...

Hole #9, Disc Side of Heaven Championship Course, Gold Tee:

9csign_zps07528939.jpg

Standing on the Gold Tee, there is one of Disc Side of Heaven's old growth oak trees in front of you. This tree is so big the branches closest to you are only about 280' away so it appears you can get around it easily with your tee shot. The illusion is the back side of the same tree is about 400' from the tee. The tree is over 100' in diameter.

From the 250' marker, trees protect the right side of the green forcing a left-to-right shot at the basket. The left side of the green is protected a small pond. The green is about 25' below feet from the 250' marker.

18 missing: 736, 754, 758, 766, 769, 781, 791, 806, 809, 828, 829, 833, 838, 841, 845, 851, 857 and 859... if you build it, we will come.

Only thing I found for 861 was:
Bowden DGC: Macon, GA, Hole 5 Gold tee, which fits the bill, but no pix of that hole.

next?
