Need Shaving cream method help

So I have tried to dye a Star line starfire twice once with Rit that did not work at all lesson learned and once in I dye Poly that barely worked I left it in for 6 1/2 hours I did the same method with a Star mako and it worked fine, does Shaving cream not work with drivers? also I did not take the stamp of don't know why that would have effected but that's why I'm here any help would be welcome

The mold of disc does not matter, nor does whether you left the stamp on or not.

You got a pic of the Starfire? What color(s) were you using? What color is the disc? How did you mix up your dye mixture?

6 1/2 hours should have been enough for star plastic to take pretty well.

The one on the left is the Starfire the one on the right is a mako both dyed with the same batch of red, yellow and blue Idyepoly; both brand new star line white, both left in for about 6 hours. The other though I had was temp. Can that effect it? the mako was done with warm dye the Starfire with room temp

My only guess based on that photo is that the starfire is actually a dx disc. I've tried to dye dx before and it always comes out very faint like that one. Are you sure it's star plastic?

well if it is a dx disc than I got screwed hard cuz I paid $18 for it; but disc have been mislabeled before. It doesn't feel like my dx discs, but it doesn't feel like the mako either. Is there a definitive way to tell?

Not sure if it's 100% way to tell, but I just did a quick google image search for star starfire...comes up mostly handguns but one disc with the 2 part stamp (no circle), then a search for dx starfire and the results show a ton of discs with the same stamp you have on that one. Looks like you got a dx.

What is the disc marked on the back where the weight is penned?

That is the DX stamp and Innova does make it in DX plastic.

Most Star discs have a hand drawn star with the disc mold abbreviation after it and the weight listed below. Starfires are marked SF.

I think trying to dye it and it not taking is the best way to tell its DX and not Star. It looks like DX to me, its probably the waxy DX (what most starfires I have seen were in) that feels a little more like star.

the more I look into it the more I think its DX. Well way to succeed by failing play-it-again sports in Aurora CO you mislabeled a product and made an extra $9 because of it. note to self never shop there again

If you happened to leave the sticker on or have a receipt they will probably give you the difference in price back.
