Just started playing a month ago and this has to be one of the most fun games I've played. I like that I don't have to assemble any sort of team nor do I have invest too much money into the game (although I can see where the discs start to add up).

I've jumped into games with people and have had people jump into my games and overall its a great community. Right now, I just need to work on keeping my disc throws low.

Welcome! It's nice that the DFW area has all kinds of courses you can use to hone any of your skills you want to work on.

Welcome! I have only been playing 7 months or so myself! Great sport and a great community. Enjoy!

play Bear Creek before it's gone.

Sonora Park in SE Ft Worth turned out to be a pretty nice little 9 holer if you are in that area.

Pack a lunch to eat between rounds and play both courses at Lester Lorch after it has dried out for at least a couple days.

Once you hit 280-300 foot drives, make a trip to Denison to play that course - good variety of challenges, good elevation changes for this area and about 20 minutes from a casino in Oklahoma if you are into that. Makes for a nice 'day-off from work' trip.

Veteran's Park didn't blow me away but it is unique.

Have FUN!

I got to play Bear Creek 2 or 3 times. That was my first course. Nice walk in the woods. Haslet has a nice open park.

Hey I just moved to DFW area as well. Been playing maybe 8 months. It is a great area to be in for disc golf. My local courses are Leonard L Woods (LL Woods) and Lake Lewisville Park that just opened up again. If you can, get up early and go to Mckinney and play both alex clark and town lake they are right next to each other. The alex clark course is a fun pitch and put but one of my favorite courses and the other is more challenging. Another great short pitch and putt course is Founder Park in Oak Cliff near downtown dallas. That is a really nice eleven hole course that most people play 2x for a full round (22 holes there)
