New website: Pro Disc Golf Journal

Mike "Hoser" Williams had an interesting take on the rules in this issue. People on the Rules Committee and others interested in rules revisions should check it out.

What became of that ? Did they have a vote in 1993? Did they switch rulebooks?

Love the disc golf journal. Lots of great reads. They were talking about getting rid of the 2 meter rule back then also. LOL

Nothing specifically happened from Mike's efforts that I recall. I was a new member of the PDGA Rules Committee in the early 90s and had met with Mike at his home that year to discuss his concepts, some that were either radical or innovative depending on your perspective. The next PDGA rule book after 1990 came out in 1996 several years after this 1992 DG Journal article. I tried to locate an old Word text copy of Mike's proposed rule revisions, but it was before documents were regularly circulated electronically versus printed. It may be buried in one of my stacks of old docs.

Good news is I contacted Mike right after the previous post and he's going to send me his latest rules version in January of the disc golf game he's proposing be renamed SnapChing. I'll share some of those ideas on DGCR when I get the chance. We'll see if any of his ideas have been implemented in our current rules since his 1992 efforts.

I'm going to add videos etc. to this on the website, but figured I'd post these lists here:

I remember that magazine since I started playing 1990. Lots of good stuff that helped me early n even though I was horrible. Not That much has changed for me.

Web address appears to have been abandoned. Or at least none of the links work for me....

Maybe this is the first sign of the COVID Disc Golf Bubble bursting.
