Question about your lie

I was wondering what the radius around your lie is acceptable for your next shot. Obviously you cant step over your disc, but how far to the sides is acceptable? For instance if you came to rest with a tree directly inbetween your previous shot and the basket, how far to either side of the disc is ok?

You have to keep one foot behind your disc. You can stretch out the other leg as far as you want/can as long as it's not closer to the basket than your disc.

When the disc is released, a player must:
(1) Have at least one supporting point that is in contact with the playing surface on the line
of play and within 30 centimeters directly behind the marker disc (except as specified in
803.04 E); and,
(2) have no supporting point contact with the marker disc or any object closer to the hole than the rear edge of the marker disc; and,
(3) have all of his or her supporting points in-bounds.

Phew...I read the thread title and thought I was totally busted...

But yeah, what they said about the rules...
