Hello,

I was hoping to get some things pointed out with my backhand that will help clean up my timing and weight shift especially. Just like when I played baseball, i have trouble keeping my wait back causing me lunge and lose power.

Your rear leg needs to sit/go down the stairs tilting back, instead of extending up/tilting over going up the stairs into the plant.
Need to work on this from standing position like a batter or pitcher.
The x-step is just adding momentum and extra moving parts to the fundamental move.
